  • The project required the delivery of two build-to-rent interiors in parallel, establishing a clear and consistent design language while responding to distinct architectural conditions. Developed in collaboration with Woods Bagot and 360 Degrees Landscape Architects, the challenge was to create interiors that reflect both the sculptural form of Charlie Parker and the industrial character of Mason & Main.Critically, spaces needed to be shaped around resident needs, prioritising liveability, durability and long-term use, and creating environments residents feel proud to call home, within compressed timelines, active construction environments and ongoing supply chain pressures.

  • Interiors were developed through a collaborative design process between Nation, Woods Bagot and 360 Degrees Landscape Architects, aligning architectural intent with a resident-led approach to living. A consistent design framework was established, grounded in intuitive planning, tactile materiality and human-centred detail.Apartments are purpose-built and fully furnished, with custom pieces co-designed with MCM House to ensure durability, consistency and appropriate scale. At Charlie Parker, interiors reflect sculptural form through pale timbers and tonal layering. At Mason & Main, materials respond to industrial context through brick references and grounded finishes. Shared spaces extend the home, supporting daily life and connection.

  • The interiors deliver measurable commercial, environmental and social outcomes by improving the quality of rental living. Purpose-built, fully furnished spaces reduce friction and support everyday use, contributing to strong leasing performance, with both projects achieving 100% occupancy following rapid lease-up, and supporting long-term retention and more stable communities. Durable materials and custom furniture minimise waste and long-term replacement.Shared spaces, designed as extensions of the home, support connection while enabling more efficient use of space and resources. Together, these outcomes demonstrate how considered interior design supports long-term performance and a more sustainable, liveable rental model.

  • The interiors establish a clear and consistent design language for rental living, balancing comfort, durability and long-term use. Purpose-built and fully furnished, each space is designed to feel settled from day one.Furniture, custom-designed with MCM House for each apartment type, is integrated into the architecture to ensure appropriate scale, consistency and durability. This approach reduces replacement cycles while reinforcing a cohesive resident experience.Materiality responds directly to each building’s context. At Charlie Parker, interiors reflect sculptural form through pale timbers, brushed metals and tonal layering. At Mason & Main, materials draw on local heritage through brick references, industrial textures and grounded finishes.Arrival sequences are carefully composed, using light, texture and proportion to establish a clear sense of entry. Shared amenity spaces – including dining rooms, cinemas, libraries, co-working areas, gyms, pools and saunas – are designed as extensions of the home, supporting daily life, flexibility and connection.Together, these elements create a cohesive, considered interior environment that supports long-term living.
