  • The KM 6839 is designed for flush-mount installation in suitable kitchen benchtops. Its design is characterised by the elegant glass ceramic surface in modern graphite black, which will seamlessly blend in with any well-made kitchen. There are not any metal frame elements or protruding controls, which could otherwise interfere with its understated, timeless design.

  • The KM 6839 features four cooking zones, including one PowerFlex bridge zone, which can be used either as two separate cooking zones, or one enlarged rectangular zone. Quick and intuitive operation is achieved via SmartSelect sensor touch controls, facilitating direct adjustment of the power settings for each cooking zone. Practical features which enhance the user experience include the Stop&Go function, whereby all cooking zones can be reduced to power setting 1 simultaneously, as well as a range of individual settings options, enabling the user to adjust the factory default setting to suit personal preferences.

  • The KM 6839 includes a multitude of safety features which are designed to protect the user from harm. The automatic safety switch-off will deactivate a cooking zone if it has been operating on the same power level for an unusually long period of time. A locking function prevents inadvertent adjustment of the power level during cooking, while a special system lock prevents unauthorised use of the cooktop. Like all Miele induction cooktops, the KM 6839 also features reliable overheating protection, as well as residual heat indicators for all cooking zones.

  • Made by Miele in Germany, the cooktop is designed and tested for a useful product life of 20 years under normal household use. The fact that Miele products are used longer in the home than other brands before being resold or disposed of due to a defect was validated in a 2006 study performed by the German consumer research organisation GfK: according to this study, new Miele appliances remained in use after their initial purchase for an average of 17.0 years, whilst the average useful life of other brands was only 13.7 years.

Given its superior technology and long life expectancy, the initial investment in this Miele cooktop does represent outstanding value for money in the long term. In view of the fact that the well-established range of Miele induction hobs has already proven its commercial viability on international markets, as well as in Australia, for many years, Miele is confident of also achieving a positive return on the investment for this latest model.

On the TempControl cooking zone, special sensors embedded in the ceramic screen ensure that the correct temperature is maintained at all times. This overcomes the common problem that, on ordinary cooktops, the temperature in a pan continues to rise during cooking, even if heat output remains constant. If the heat isn't turned down in time, food can easily overcook or even burn on. With TempControl, all the user has to do is to select one of three temperature levels. Once the selected temperature level has been reached, a signal sounds to alert the user. TempControl will the precisely maintain the temperature at the selected level, making the cooking process simpler than ever before.
