Rainbow Stacker and Teether Toy

Our brief focused on the following key areas - safety, engagement for all ages and stages, ease of cleaning and longevity. Rather than creating a product that helped with teething and was then rendered useless once the teething phase passed we looked to create a product that was a soothing teether as well as a toy that would continue to be used after the teething days were over. This toy had to be tactile and sensory in nature as well as bright and colourful so babies would find it attractive and interesting to play with.

Safety The Australian safety standards addressed the design restrictions relating to material used, why we selected non-toxic silicone, and size. Engagement Brightly coloured, vibrant rings with high contrast capture the attention of babies. The ability to stack encourages exploration, creativity and problem solving. Further to these thinking skills children are developing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Ease of cleaning Silicone can be cleaned using warm soapy water, a steam steriliser or on the top shelf of the dishwasher for ease and convenience. Longevity Silicone is unaffected by excessive use, the colour doesn't fade and the texture remains intact.
