  • Our brief focused on the following key areas - safety, engagement for all ages and stages, ease of cleaning and longevity. Rather than creating a product that helped with teething and was then rendered useless once the teething phase passed we looked to create a product that was a soothing teether as well as a toy that would continue to be used after the teething days were over. This toy had to be tactile and sensory in nature as well as bright and colourful so babies would find it attractive and interesting to play with.

  • Safety The Australian safety standards addressed the design restrictions relating to material used, why we selected non-toxic silicone, and size. Engagement Brightly coloured, vibrant rings with high contrast capture the attention of babies. The ability to stack encourages exploration, creativity and problem solving. Further to these thinking skills children are developing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Ease of cleaning Silicone can be cleaned using warm soapy water, a steam steriliser or on the top shelf of the dishwasher for ease and convenience. Longevity Silicone is unaffected by excessive use, the colour doesn't fade and the texture remains intact.

  • We believe the widespread success and popularity of the Rainbow Stacker is reflective of its positive impact. Many parents, carers, childcare workers have purchased this product to aid tactile development and found it to be an excellent tool for encouraging sensory learning. Occupational Therapists and physiologists have used this toys as a grounding tool with clients experiencing big feelings. Jellystone Designs has pioneered sensory play with products that are safe to chew and mouth. As a brand it is passionate about inclusivity and believes sensory toys should be part of the everyday not just tools employed by health practitioners.

  • These are some further key features: Lightweight: little hands are able to easily grasp and hold each ring Easy to clean: a product ending in the mouth frequently needs to be easily cleaned and or sterilised which silicone is ideal for. It can be covered in bubbles, dirt, oats, you name it, and then washed and ready to use again. Numbered rings 1 - 5: Each ring is numbered adding a further educational benefit to this toy Colour recognition: The bright colours promote an early engagement with colour Equality in play: The interlocking rings can be stacked in any order, there is no strictly right or wrong way to play with this toy Tactile: Adding sensory input, calming when held and squeezed by people who fidget or feeling stress Quiet play: no loud plastic toys banging together! The silicone is quiet when dropped, banged and rolled Skills: There are a variety of skills that can be enhanced by playing with this toy including fine motor skills and hand & eye coordination (interlocking the rings), gross motor skills (rolling and catching), communication (discussing the colours or stacking order), problem solving (deciding which ring stacks next) and creativity (what order combination could I do?)
