The challenge for the IQ PowerPack 1500 was to create a compact, plug-and-play energy solution that delivered safe and reliable power in a dust and weather resistant enclosure. The brief demanded that the design was clean, contemporary and reflected a premium home technology product. It was not to look overtly ruggedised like a typical power tool. Key challenges included minimising the weight of the product (25.2kg), thermal management and ensuring the enclosure was suitable for outdoor use. The design team needed to carefully balance size, weight, aesthetics and environmental protection to achieve a cohesive, user-friendly solution.

The IQ PowerPack 1500 incorporates LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery technology, meeting rigorous UL 9540A and UL 1642 safety standards to deliver safe, dependable performance with complete user confidence. Made from high-impact polymers, the enclosure features durable silicone covers to protect the connectors from dust, light rain and snow. Integrated handles are designed for safe, easy lifting and transport. For an improved UX and portability, a dedicated light-weight cart was designed to allow users to seamlessly manoeuvre the product in indoor and outdoor environments. The result is a product that seamlessly balances aesthetics and functionality.
