With just the touch of a button, the Uber app connects you with a driver, putting your city at your fingertips. You can track the arrival of your driver on a map and use the provided license plate number and photo to help identify them once they arrive. Once you reach your destination, the card on file with your Uber account is billed so there’s no cash required- just say “thanks” and be on your way.

The app experience is designed to be as simple and seamless as possible- taking into account the user’s interaction with the app, their driver, fellow passengers and more.

When requesting a ride, you can enter a destination in the app which will be provided to the driver, along with turn-by-turn directions.

  • The Uber app uses your phone's GPS to pinpoint your location, so getting a ride is as easy as tapping the “Set Pickup Location” button, then the “Request” button. Just those two taps and a driver will be curbside in minutes.

  • When requesting a ride, you can enter a destination in the app which will be provided to the driver, along with turn-by-turn directions. If plans change, you can edit your destination, updating the directions on the driver's app.

  • You can share your ETA with loved ones, giving them the ability to see your progress to your destination on a map and how many minutes until you get where you're going. When choosing to share your ETA, you select a contact in your phone who will be sent a text message containing a unique URL showing your ETA information.

  • Invite your friends to split your fare and they'll receive a notification in their Uber app. If they opt in, each person's credit card will be charged equally.

    Riders can play their own music during a ride using Uber's Spotify integration.
