  • Traditional wired and wireless security camera systems have long struggled to provide continuous connectivity and visibility to far-flung corners of residential and business assets, especially over long distances. Large properties often have hard-to-reach blind spots that ordinary wired networks cannot connect to and Wi-Fi networks using the 2.4GHz band simply can’t reach. This is a major problem since it is often larger properties that have historically been more susceptible to security risks due to the absence of robust security solutions with adequate long-range wireless connections. Also, until now wireless battery cameras have needed frequent and inconvenient manual recharging.

  • Swann designed the MaxRanger4K to overcome the challenges of poor Wi-Fi signal quality and lack of distance, engineering the product with 900MHz wireless technology that can transmit with 20x the coverage of Wi-Fi security systems that rely on the 2.4GHz bandwidth. The MaxRanger4K can maintain Wi-Fi connection up to 600 metres in the open air and up to 200 metres from its central Wi-Fi hub unit in typical use, transmitting signals uninterrupted through obstacles such as walls, ceilings, trees and floors. With its weatherproof 4K cameras, integrated solar panels and smart alerts, MaxRanger4K takes security to a new level.

  • The MaxRanger4K has changed the game for those with large properties they need to protect. Offering the longest and strongest wireless signal in the market and best-in-class features including 4K colour day and night video, AI-powered heat, motion, people and vehicle-triggered alerts and recording, two-way talk and sirens controllable from Swann’s app, customers can prevent threats from anywhere in the world. With 64GB on-device storage and by leveraging local AWS cloud services, Swann raises the bar for DIY-security when it comes to data privacy. And, with built-in solar panels, customers benefit from zero security downtime while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

  • The MaxRanger4K system comprises a stylish, compact central hub that connects to main power and includes a backup battery that provides up to five hours of additional runtime in the event of a site power outage. Each hub supports up to eight wireless cameras. The sleek, bullet-style cameras are made of tough polycarbonate that is lightweight and durable, possessing an IP66 rating for water and dust resistance. With 2-way audio and True Detect+ technology, which senses heat, motion, people and cars to trigger mobile alerts, video recording, spotlights and sirens, all entirely controllable via the Swann Security app, the MaxRanger4K puts security back in the hands of property owners. In addition to its long-range 900Mhz Wi-Fi technology and its best-in-class Sony STARVIS sensors to provide enhanced rich 4K colour video around the clock, the MaxRanger4K boasts premium lithium-ion batteries in each camera, designed and rated for both high and low temperatures ensuring operation in climates where other battery-powered cameras may fail. These batteries are powered by environmentally friendly solar panels that are discretely moulded into the cameras’ weatherproof construction, meaning they can be kept off the power grid for enhanced continuity while reducing the user’s carbon footprint.
