Good fortune isn’t just luck but well considered ideas. Our design took the symbols of fortune told across two wrapped cubes of soap (representing our boutique agency). When both cubes are aligned together in the correct way, the fortune symbol is revealed. Upon opening the packaging, the fortune unveiled.

  • We wanted to reinforce our strength in partnership and remind our customers through thought-provoking, collaborative creative work. By being known to focus on the big picture whilst crafting the small details along the way, we needed to develop a gift that could playfully represent this sentiment. We set about taking a reference of our business name whilst wrapping it in a way that meant it required the customer to interact and create themselves a positive message that could be considered for their business using ours (SOAP™ Design).

  • The idea of SOAP™ and its client’s success through our partnership /working together is bought to life by each face of the handmade soap featuring half a symbol. By interlocking the correct symbols by aligning two of the cubes you see the complete symbol and associated fortune beneath. Each soap communicates in its own right but becomes clearest when combined – like our partnership with our clients. The symbols are beautifully simple, graphic and a little playful; to capture attention, some are easy to discern straight away, others may take a little longer recognise – by design.

  • The gift has definitely garnered a lot attention whilst unmistakably aligning to who we are. Some positive client feedback which reflects this: “We loved this – so clever and so thoughtful – so SOAP™” (Lynne Parker, Parker & Co). Perhaps the best business measure we can apply is that we continue to strengthen our relationships with our clients and grow the scope of the work we do with them.

  • The symbols are beautifully simple, graphic and a little playful; to capture attention, some are easy to discern straight away, others may take a little longer. Upon connecting the two symbols and then unwrapping, the full description/picture of the symbols are brought to bear on the inside. Creating a sense of discovery through alignment. This is then also enhanced with the additional sense of smell adjoining all aspects of beauty, craft, intelligence – and ultimately good fortune. The copy used throughout the packaging and accompanying card echoes our own tone with our clients; warm, witty, playful and intelligent. To ensure as high quality finish as possible on a small quantity production, we created a bespoke die for the packaging to ensure as perfect fit as possible for the hand-cut soaps. Each set of packaging was then hand-assembled by the team and the companioning cards personally signed for each client.
