  • MORE
  • At Rugs For Good we believe in a fair and equitable society whereby everyone should have access to the same opportunities. We believe that big and small businesses can help create a better world for all. That’s why we have created a social enterprise that does just this. Our founder Jessica, social worker turned entrepreneur, wanted to shake up the rug industry by giving back to the country (India) that we gain so much from in terms of artisanal products. Less taking and more giving back.

  • Jessica designs the Rugs For Good signature Slow Weave collection in Australia, made from natural fibres, created in small batches by fairly paid, respected and cared for artisans in India. All Slow Weave rugs are ethically and fairly made with GoodWeave International certification. This collection is of the highest ethical standard in the rug industry. Plus 100% of profit from all of our rugs are donated to our charity partner The Shanti Bhavan Children's Project. Jessica learned about designing and making rugs from scratch with no design background, communicating and developing relationships with rug makers who have century old skills.

  • Not only did our Slow Weave collection provide much needed/consistent work to weavers in India during multiple lockdowns with our small batch-making, in only 3 years of operation we have donated $35,000 to the Shanti Bhavan Children's Project. While also setting them up as an Australian Registered Charity so that they can expand on their donation pool. A 12 month process undertaken with Australian lawyers, Shanti Bhavan HQ and Jessica the Rugs For Good Founder. The Slow Weave Collection moved away from the use of AZO dyes, and only uses AZO free dyes, natural fibres to protect the rug makers.

  • Rugs For Good is a small social enterprise shaking up the prolific rug industry by designing beautiful, ethically made, finely woven, quality rugs at affordable prices while also donating 100% of our profit to bettering the lives of the most vulnerable children in the world. Our dream has been to create a business structure that gives back more than it takes, and show others in the rug industry and other industries that it's possible.
