The Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympic Games mark more than just sporting events. They ignite Queensland’s diverse transformation— economically, culturally, socially, and environmentally. Until the 2032 Games, the Queensland Government required a platform and centralised source of up-to-date information about the progress and opportunities the Games present for all Queenslanders.

  • The design needed to bring to life an inspiring and trusted source of information about what the Games means for each individual Queenslander, leading up to, during, and post the Games, fostering pride and excitement in Queensland’s journey. It needed to create an emotional bond with the Games, rallying Ambassadors whose passion will inspire involvement, support and positivity across communities. To achieve this an overarching positioning strategy and identity was required that would embody modernity and innovation and align with the Olympic and Paralympic spirit and Queensland’s progress.

  • The Q2032 identity and Q2032.au online experience was created as a welcoming, informative and accessible place where everyone can come to understand what the progress of the Games means for them as individuals, and as a catalyst for the business, social and economic growth of our state. Q2032 brings to life every important aspect of the years leading up to the Games, and the years beyond: A GAMES FOR ALL QUEENSLANDERS, equality & inclusion, First Nation’s culture, sustainability, technology & innovation, as well as infrastructure, community sport and the 2032 legacy strategy, Elevate 2042.

  • The Q2032 enduring identity has rallied multiple Government departments and communities. Q2032 has been embraced by Queenslanders from all backgrounds, through providing transparency on the long-term benefits and opportunities brought about by the Games. In the lead up to the Games, the content will remain relevant and meaningful to all. Q2032 supports the Small Business Procurement Action Plan, offering Queensland businesses $180B worth of opportunities. The design, visual identity, usability and innovative approach surpassed the client’s expectations, has received significant organic site visits and performed exceptionally well through all usability testing across a broad range of demographics.

  • The Big Picture The 2032 Olympic Games will create a legacy for Queensland that will continue long after the games have been staged. Stats and figures don’t tell the whole story. To engage with all users, we created an interactive story across 11 topics that users could move through at their own pace to gain a snapshot of the positive changes that will benefit all Queenslanders. The Games Map Using mapping technology, we created a module to visually represent the regions and venues that will contribute. This direction allowed us to show how the Olympics will not just impact Brisbane positively, but all of Queensland. Queensland Moments Queensland has a rich history so Q2032 was a perfect opportunity to look back over the last 100 years and celebrate them through a visually engaging and responsive interactive timeline. Plans & Progress A structured design system was created to give the client flexibility to add content across multiple topics using templated components to keep the public informed of on-going infrastructure progress. Get Involved A space was designed to allow the client to promote related sporting programs as well as giving Queensland businesses the opportunity to contact regarding infrastructure projects.
