Pivot Glide Awning

The classic auto lock blind has great function however it’s manual only operation makes it difficult if not impossible for some people to operate, especially older people. It is also restricted to ground floor use. Before the Pivot Glide it was deemed impossible to motorise this function, the industry said it couldn’t be done. The challenge is that the classics function relies on being manually adjusted and locked into place under spring tension, this operation cannot be motorised due to being locked into place.

The solution was to transform the locking function by making it mobile. The Pivot Glide utilizes the spring arm function of the Pivot Arm Awning connecting the arms to the new Glide component. The arms are constantly applying downward pressure on the fabric as the blind is remotely lowered the arms pivot down until reaching full extension, this is when the new Pivot Glide component tilts, unlocks and starts to travel down classic guide rails. The blind can be lowered or raised and stopped and started to any point in it travel.
