Off the Grid – Inspired by nature and built for nature

The need to connect, to reflect, to simply stand still and be in the moment, is ever more compelling. As our schedules leave little time for reflection, and our digital lives remove us from our senses, we yearn for the calming power of a soft surface, the visual harmony found in nature, for physical connection. Off the Grid is a deeply textural collection of undulating patterns that mirrors the natural world and forges deeper connections to the world around us. Developing a platform that provided a response to the need for a circular economy is a challenge met.

Our designers visited significant unspoilt natural environments across the Pacific rim to explore the patterns and textures of rock forms at several scales. The colours are drawn from the richness of all that we observed, earthy and natural, a reflection of all that nature has to offer when you go off grid. The sustainability of the manufacturing process and final product reflects the importance of a connection with the natural environment for our present and future health with a product that is guaranteed to be reclaimed and remade back into itself at the end of its service life.

Humans spend 90% of their lives indoors and materials that are truely healthy for us and the planet are incredibly rare and are increasingly recognised as essential. The technical challenge of meeting cradle to cradle, carbon neutral and red list chemical free products is accepted by very few manufacturers for creating a positive future for our planet and people. Typical carpet ( including natural fibre) goes to landfill at the end of its life and the original production involves toxic chemicals. A circular system reduces the impact of creating beautiful, healthy & sustainable interior spaces where humans and the planet can thrive.

Global Take Back guarantee to collect and reprocess end of life products at no cost to the building owner, creating opportunities for a circular economy . Carbon neutral manufacturing and product calculations include transport to Global markets and back to recycling centres. All materials used in the manufacture are safe for humans and the environment. Many competitors utilise chemicals on a global list of worst in class chemicals - the Red List.
