A sheet of paper is all we need to mold or shape an idea. This is how the Nuez was born from Patricia Urquiola’s hands, modeling its shell with a simple paper. The folds take on the enveloping shape that characterizes it. Then technology will be responsible for materializing it in an injected thermopolymer seat, which is comfortable in use and also in touch, for that added texture reminiscent of a quilted fabric.

  • A sheet of paper is all we need to mold or shape an idea. The interior upholstery is also the result of a studied manufacturing and the different leg options configure a versatile program.

  • Nuez is a technological seat that stands out for the 3D texture of its shell formed by three-dimensional waves that give it dynamism. The Nuez shell - made from injected thermopolymer - expresses itself as a flexible surface that embraces sitting and whose shape presents the same folds at the corners as a large sheet of closed paper, transmitting softness and materialit

  • The technical development of such a complex and rich geometry has meant an important technological challenge both of the material and of the injection process, which allows us to affirm that Nuez achieves a new standard of innovation and technology in the injection of thermopolymer.

  • Its interior upholstery is the result of complex and studied manufacturing, an authentic formal and technical innovation. In this sense, Nuez presented the challenge of achieving that two materials as different as the thermopolymer and the fabric establish a harmonic and rich dialogue. It can be upholstered in different fabrics or leather, you can also opt for an upholstery with bands designed by Patricia Urquiola.
