The new Vertuo system from Nespresso is a revolution in coffee. With so many coffee drinkers in Australia enjoying larger cups of coffee, there was a clear need in the market for a machine that could produce a high quality coffee in a variety of coffee sizes.

  • Vertuo is the next generation of at-home coffee systems. Developed through many years of research and development, Vertuo has revolutionised the way that coffee is extracted. The traditional way of extracting coffee (using pressure to extract the water through the coffee grounds) would simply not allow for a significantly longer extraction. A whole new system needed to be developed because different parameters are necessary to master the distinct characteristics of larger coffee sizes whilst still maintaining the high quality and crema that Nespresso is known for.

  • Vertuo & VertuoPlus machines are unique in that they read the barcodes on the capsules to identify which coffee the user is preparing. The machine reads the code to recognize the capsule and then adjusts the amount of water, speed of extraction, and other parameters to prepare each blend and cup size in the most optimal way. The code on the rim of the capsule allows the machine to adjust the parameters needed for the specific coffee: the length of infusion, the temperature and amount of water, the speed of the rotation, the flow rate and more.

  • Nespresso’s coffee experts have carefully chosen the origin and roasting parameters of each coffee blend so that they are perfectly crafted to work with the new brewing system called Centrifusion™, which is a patented extraction technology developed by Nespresso. The machine delivers the optimal in-cup results for each blend by reading the barcode on each capsule and brewing the coffee to the specific parameters to deliver the perfect cup of coffee. This is also a machine that does not require an additional milk frothing device in order to enjoy a creamy cup of coffee.
