After a few years of production in China, we made the call to move production back to Sweden. In addition to the elevated quality and appearance, we’ve prioritized a modular design that can be repaired and upgraded over time. We wanted to create something timeless for the demanding user.

  • The design challenge was to create a speaker that incorporates a proper wooden enclosure, while also limiting the number of printed circuit boards (PCBs) involved, making assembly and disassembly easy, and utilizing environmentally friendly oils for the surface finish. The goal is to minimize the number of manufacturing parties involved, reducing the need for freights and decreasing the overall carbon footprint of the product. By addressing these challenges, a sustainable and easy-to-use speaker can be created, offering a better experience for both manufacturing and the end user.

  • The solution was to go all in on sustainable and high-quality materials, as well as manufacturing processes with focus on making it simple to assemble and disassemble. European plywood, screws from Germany & drivers from Scan Speak in Denmark, are used to keep the focus on local sourcing. To treat the surface, Osmo oil from Sweden is utilized, providing an eco-friendly solution. Carpentry in Sweden is utilized to create the wooden enclosures & 3D printing is used to create the bass vents in PET-G, which is made from recycled plastic bottles. Sweden made stainless steel stands are offering a sturdy look & angle.

  • We succeeded in manufacturing a Sweden made speaker with less impact on the environment. Forever upgradable, since all parts can be replaced and upgraded over time. The real challenge was to find reliable local partners & components. Since our first batch was 50 pcs we needed partners to bet on us for the future & potential growth. Another challenge was to solve the vents using 3D print instead of regular tooling since no manufacturer would support us making a tool for a couple of hundred units. In all solving the current mass production methods were the real impact in our opinion.
