Mochi; named after the smooth and soft Japanese rice cake that invites good fortune, is a playful, versatile collection of five seating elements that can be arranged to create a number of configurations that blend perfectly into every setting. Mochi’s pared back silhouette charms from every angle.

  • The self-assigned design intent with Mochi was to create an elegant and impactful form, an upholstered sofa collection with a level of comfort that blurs the boundaries of residential aesthetics and commercial qualities – Now more than ever, soft, residential-focused commercial / workplace furniture is needed as we transition back to the public realm post COVID, it’ll be the small comforts, and feeling of home that will be missed, this collection of seating aims to ‘soften’ the return.

  • Post pandemic, the collection caters for an ever-increasing need for commercial furniture to evoke feeling of comfort and home. Mochi has been designed with subtle cues that will encourage conversation and interaction, bringing a fresh, reinvigorated feel to the public realm as we return to work / commercial settings.

  • The product’s construction: although hidden by its “easy form”, has a number of innovations that have been developed to achieve a level of comfort that perfectly balances form and function for its commercial use – Soft and humble yet strong and durable. The construction of the frame and the “link” between the seat and backrest, makes mochi feel like two separate volumes that come together, combined as one, an object that commands attention in any room. The Mochi collection meets construction sustainability credentials and is GECA certified with our local Australian manufacturing partners based in Melbourne.
