In 2010, the innovative Mk2 was released to dominate the global market as the category leader. The Mk2 has proven so safe and effective in bogged vehicle recovery that many of the world’s elite fighting forces, professional Dakar Rally teams and all serious recreational 4WD enthusiasts mount sets of Mk2s to their vehicles. The durable Mk2 allows so many years of life that the extreme user’s tyres are eventually wearing the polymer composite teeth off the board. The new MAXTRAX Xtreme solves this last great design challenge; a long board life without traction teeth wear.

MAXTRAX field testing combined with customer feedback indicated the ultimate board would be a combination of the Mk2s advanced engineered polymer body embedded with user replaceable teeth made from harder heat and abrasion resistant material. Customer demand and recent Military Special Forces supply requests to develop such a board initiated a new R&D program to achieve the ultimate MAXTRAX. The R&D breakthrough came with the development of an advanced alloy tooth with specialised thread that allowed it to be over-moulded into the board at factory but also allow customers to replace it years later in the field if required.

MAXTRAX always market leads due to the company’s deep expertise in extreme 4WD touring and design led approach where all users’ needs are considered. On launch at the world’s largest Automotive Accessories Tradeshow (SEMA) the new Xtreme was awarded a prestigious Global Media Product Award. The Xtreme will further provide global growth to MAXTRAX but more importantly increased value to its customers through its long life and superior function. Environmentally the new Xtreme will be the least impactful of all traction boards on the market through its predicted life span and endless years of service.
