Maxi-Cosi® Pria Convertible Car Seat

Over 40% of car seats are installed incorrectly. The project aimed to create a from birth car seat that would enhance the safety for children, make the seat easy to use and install and was comfortable for the child and other occupants in the car while aiming to lower the average rate of misused car seats. All these features should be achieved in a compact design that allows for the seat to be fitted in a diverse range of cars. The design challenge was intensified by the highly competitive market, necessitating cost-effective choices to ensure competitive pricing and customer value.

Maxi-Cosi® Pria car seat introduces an Australian designed and engineered SMART Guide®, working in rearward facing position, the SMART Guide® removes the top tether barrier for parents. SMART Guide® will negate the daily risk of not reengaging the top tether once children are in the seat, eliminating the risk of misuse. This creates a safer and easier solution for parents. Zero-Gravity recline provides the best layflat angle in rearward facing, opening airways, and reducing chin to chest. Maxi-Cosi designed Air Protect® technology, G-Cell® and bamboo wicking-fabric are all features within Pria adding to the comfort and safety of this seat.

The design of Pria creates a compact, premium offering within the Maxi-Cosi® product range, creating best practice ease of use for parents, every day. Most importantly, Pria provides a genuine improvement on safety within the convertible car seat market with the development of SMART Guide® and SMART Lock®. Maxi-Cosi® Pria adapts to the growth of a child with an intuitive V-Harness system; the harness expanding as the child grows providing a great fit for ultimate comfort.
