The Junglefy Breathing Wall is an active, modular green-wall system, scientifically proven to accelerate the removal of air pollutants, such as carbon dioxide, particulate matter and volatile organic compounds. More than just another green-wall – it’s an innovative system combining technology with nature resulting in a safer and more productive indoor-environment.

  • The Junglefy Breathing Wall is made up of plants carefully chosen for their abilities to clean the air and thrive within our built environment. From a design perspective, plants are the aesthetic feature of this product and evoke an emotional and physical connection to space. Plants are well known to reduce stress, sick leave and poor productivity. This effect is known as 'biophilia'. Designed to provide a more effective space saving means of introducing nature into our built environments, the Junglefy Breathing Wall looks amazing whilst actively cleaning the air to create healthier and happier people. The modules used to house the plants are also a design feature although once installed are covered by plants.

  • Beautiful and functional the Breathing Wall is made up of modules composed of linear, low-density polyethylene with infinite recyclability, supplied with a growing medium high in coconut fibre. The system is ventilated via a fan, providing a uniform airflow across plants and growing medium. This unique, active ventilation system, increases the rate of carbon dioxide draw down, and the volume of air that can be filtered and cooled by each module. The Junglefy Breathing Wall is similar to other green wall systems on the market, with exception of the following attributes: 1. Active Ventilation System 2. Validated and all claims proven by scientific research 3. Modular allowing for flexible design and scalability

  • This product is completely free from materials known to contain toxic chemicals harmful to human health and wellbeing. The whole premise of the Junglefy Breathing Wall is that it cleans the air of toxins circulating as a chemical soup inside our buildings such as C02, particulate matter and VOCs. Other plant based systems have been known to cause legionella, the Junglefy Breathing Wall, however, has been tested for both mould and Legionella emissions by UTS's scientists, and was shown to actually reduce the mould spore level in the air. It is always installed to comply with local building codes and regulations. Junglefy as a business has AS4801 (Occupation Health & Safety Management) accreditation.

  • Made up of modules composed of linear, low-density polyethylene with infinite recyclability the Breathing Wall's modular design allows for ease of installation, flexibility and scalability and can be disassembled and re-used multiple times. Each module is supplied with a growing media high in coconut fibre and is 100% biodegradable and was once considered a waste material. It removes the top 3 most harmful air pollutants such as CO2, Particular Matter and VOCs, circulating as a chemical soup inside our buildings. It reduces a building's reliance on HVAC systems in three important ways: 1) actively reduces CO2 levels and filters out other pollutants 2) it cools ambient temperatures 3) humidifies the air.

All components of the Breathing Wall have been chosen based on quality & durability, including the plants grown in Junglefy's own nursery. Junglefy was the first living infrastructure specialist to achieve ISO14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), ISO9001 (Quality Management System) and AS4801 (Occupation Health & Safety Management) accreditation. It has been rigorously tested by the Plants and Environmental Quality Research Group at the University of Technology Sydney, research findings on the Junglefy Breathing Wall indicates it cleans the air faster and more efficiently than any other green wall system (or equivalent number of pot plants) currently on the market globally.

In 2015, Junglefy installed a six-metre high Breathing Wall into the new Lendlease headquarters in Barangaroo. It is one of Lendlease's hero design elements of it's new headquarters and provides a stunning entrance to the office as well as many health and wellbeing benefits. Incorporating some 5000 plants, the modules were planted by Lendlease employees who won a competition to travel to the Junglefy nursery and plant up the modules. Lendlease continues to invite Junglefy to present on this wall at site-tours and seminars, it has created a lot of PR and brand value for Lendlease and has provided a strong return on investment. Junglefy are also launching a freestanding version of the breathing wall in mid-2017.

The first key innovation is the active ventilation system, providing a uniform airflow across plants and growing media. This active ventilation increases the rate of carbon dioxide draw down, and the volume of air that can be filtered and cooled by each module. It can remove 24.2 litres of CO2 per hour. This is the highest recorded CO2 removal rate recorded in scientific literature. The second innovation is it has been scientifically tested by the Plants and Environmental Quality Research Group at UTS. The research began in 2014 and has produced several peer review published reports. The combination of the active ventilation system, modularity and scientific research makes this product a world-first.
