  • The brief for the Hyundai KONA called for an advanced small SUV range with a choice of internal combustion, hybrid and EV powertrains (Note: only the ICE Kona is presented for consideration here - the EV & Hybrid will arrive later in 2023). With a wide range of advanced powertrains planned, all-new KONA needed to be a technologically advanced and futuristic vehicle, with the space, versatility and dynamic driving experience expected in an SUV. KONA had to be a compelling package with a high level of standard safety, comfort and convenience features to build on its popularity, in an ever-evolving segment.

  • KONA hit the brief by adopting an electric-first design approach to usher in a bold style headlined by Seamless Horizon lighting, while adopting EV-derived features such as active air flaps, reducing drag and creates a futuristic visage. All-new KONA is roomier than its predecessor, thanks to expanded proportions and smart elements (such as the floating console & slim seatbacks). With the wheels pushed to the corners on a long wheelbase and broad tracks, it’s an athletic drive. High level of standard equipment in KONA includes Bluelink® connected car services, wireless Over-the-Air software updates, and an extensive suite of SmartSense™ safety technologies.

  • An ‘electric-first’ design approach ushers in leading-edge technology and bold styling across the KONA range, headlined by futuristic Seamless Horizon lighting. A driver-centric first row features a ‘floating’ dashboard and centre module, dual 12.3-inch displays and shift-by-wire drive selection. There is more ‘Living Space’ in every direction compared with the preceding KONA, including 77mm more rear leg room. Bluelink® connected car services bring the reassurance of auto collision assistance, remote diagnostics and maintenance reminders, while Over-the-Air (OTA) technology allows convenient wireless software updates. Generous standard equipment in KONA, including an extensive suite of SmartSense™ technologies, creates a compelling value proposition.

  • The All-new KONA small SUV is available in two trim grades (KONA & KONA Premium – with a 2.0 petrol front-wheel drive CVT automatic powertrain. A direct-injected 1.6 turbo petrol all-wheel drive powertrain with an eight-speed automatic is offered in sporty N Line form. (Note: Hybrid and Electric powertrains will join the range later in 2023.) The bold KONA applies progressive design and advances the UX through its: - Futuristic style which replaces a conventional grille with a front bumper featuring a three-dimensional garnish and skid plate, and is balanced with robust SUV cues including boldly sculpted wheel arch cladding. - Parametric Surfacing which takes the form of a sharp diagonal crease connecting the satin chrome moulding from the belt line to the spoiler, creating a contour that wraps around Kona - N Line treatment which brings a wing-type spoiler, aggressive, wing-shaped bumpers, 19-inch wheels, twin mufflers and silver skirts, with leather/Alcantara upholstery & dark metal trims inside - Extra cargo space compared with the previous model (now 466L VDA) - Customisable smart power tailgate which lets users select the opening height and speed of the tailgate via the infotainment screen or smart key
