Hyundai IONIQ 6

The brief for the Hyundai IONIQ 6 called for an electric sedan that redefined mobility by the measures of charging time, battery range and dynamic performance. IONIQ 6 had to translate the Hyundai Prophecy concept into a road car while over-delivering in terms of aesthetics and practicality. It had to advance the user experience compared with existing ICE and electric vehicles through the application of innovative safety, connectivity and convenience technologies. And it had to underline Hyundai’s technological ambition and commitment to developing sustainable mobility solutions in a compelling and accessible package.

IONIQ 6 is built on Hyundai’s advanced E-GMP architecture which brings rapid charging from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 18 minutes, range of up to 614km, and 5.1sec 0-100km/h capability. IONIQ 6 draws a striking, single curve silhouette and applies futuristic surfacing to bring the dramatic Hyundai Prophecy Concept car to life. Inside, IONIQ 6’s reimagined ‘Living Space’ cabin delivers exceptional space and flexibility through smart packaging design. EV-specific Bluelink® features, the capability for Over-The-Air (OTA) vehicle system updates and leading-edge tech such as Digital Side Mirrors contribute to an advanced UX in IONIQ 6.

IONIQ 6 applies Hyundai’s advanced E-GMP architecture to deliver best-in-class 14.3 kWh/100km energy efficiency – for up to 614km of battery range (AWD) – and can charge from 10 to 80% in as little as 18mins. Advanced EV-specific Hyundai Bluelink® features enhance users’ safety, security, convenience and enjoyment while Over-The-Air (OTA) technology allows wireless remote vehicle software updates. Cleverly packaged ‘Living Space’ cabin applies recycled and sustainable materials in line with Hyundai’s global aim to be carbon neutral by 2045. IONIQ 6 showcases Hyundai’s technological ambition and increases the visibility of electric vehicles to drive both the development and uptake of EVs.

IONIQ 6 is offered in three models each powered by a 77.4kWh battery, with single-motor rear-wheel drive (614km range) or dual-motor all-wheel drive (519km range) powertrains. The 168kW, 350Nm RWD DYNAMIQ has 18in wheels, extensive SmartSense™ and Bluelink® suites, Over-The-Air update capability, Intelligent Front Lighting, dual 12.3in displays, eco-processed leather upholstery, heated front seats, Vehicle-to-Load function and a Power tailgate. The 239kW, 605Nm AWD TECHNIQ has 20in wheels, a full-width sunroof, relaxation front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats and heated and ventilated front seats. The flagship EPIQ builds on the TECHNIQ grade with additional cutting-edge technologies, including: • Digital Side Mirrors (replacing exterior mirrors with camera views) • Heat Pump System which increases efficiency by using waste heat from electronic systems to warm the cabin • Battery Conditioning System which ensures optimal battery temperature, for maximum output and minimum charging time, and works with Navigation to plan for anticipated DC fast-charging requirements IONIQ 6’s EV-specific Bluelink® connected car services suite and Bluelink® App bring SOS & Automatic Collision Notification, vehicle & navigation voice control, EV management & charge scheduling. Other functions include calendar integration, Send to Car for navigation POI, Find My Car, smartphone Remote Surround View, status notifications and cloud-based connected routing.
