To this end, the brief for INSTER called for an affordable electric light SUV, with the battery range and rapid charging capability, to work as an alternative to a conventional vehicle to suit a wide range of customers. INSTER had to apply considered design to be as roomy and versatile as possible, within the constraints of a compact urban vehicle. In line with Hyundai’s high bar for standard technology, and ever-increasing customer expectations, INSTER also needed to feature extensive standard safety and driver assistance technology.

INSTER bullseyes the brief by coming to market from $39,000 (MLP), which is within reach of small ICE alternatives. With the benefit of the efficient EV powertrain technology from Hyundai’s award-winning larger EVs, INSTER brings a range of up to 360km and the capability to fast-charge from 10 to 80 percent in 30 minutes. With a long 2580mm wheelbase, short overhangs and cleverly designed seating, INSTER provides an exceptionally roomy and practical interior for its size and price. Extensive standard SmartSense advanced safety technology and Bluelink Connected Car Services suites underscore INSTER’s appeal, to compete a compelling value proposition.

The futuristic, spacious and versatile INSTER is Hyundai’s first electric light SUV. INSTER produces 71.1kW in the standard range variant (42kWh battery), and 84.5kW in the Long Range version (49kWh battery). Up to 360km range (Long Range: WLTP) or 327km (Standard Range: WLTP). INSTER can fast-charge from 10 to 80 percent in 30mins. INSTER measures 3,825mm long, 1,610mm wide and 1,575mm high, on a 2,580mm wheelbase.
