HIVE Collection

There is no single workspace that works for every organisation. The modern workplace is made up of adaptable spaces, uniquely catering to both the individual and the organisation. The pandemic has shifted how work takes place. Since this, employees have changed what they want within their workspaces. There’s a greater demand for hybrid workspaces, where one space can fit many different needs, moving away from the static workspaces of the past.

The HIVE collection supports creative collaborative work across disciplines, a truly modular approach to the way we work post covid. Complementing the way we will be working post-pandemic. The research leads us to define three key sectors to target. Specifically Education, Corporate and Creative as opportunities to use Designed products to enhance the way we work and experience an environment. Defining the overlapping needs of each sector gave us the scaffolding to design a steel mesh pattern that is shared across all products. Allowing the easy adaption of multiple accessories, whiteboards, TVs, and tools to complement unique methods of working.

HIVE has deliberately been designed around the established Australian Manufacturing process. Supporting local business and allowing the range to be flexible and competitive on lead times and customisation. The true success of HIVE will be the feedback loop created by the user and our design studio's ability to add additional products. Using the HIVE range as a tool to connect with our target audience and understand how they work and what they truly need. This will ultimately lead to the further editions and growth of the range in ways we can not predict today.

The HIVE collection took more than two years to develop with over 100 individual components. The majority of the work was completed during a pandemic when most of our team was working from home. This shift in perspective allowed us to appreciate our workspace and connect with other designers, clients and manufacturers. The HIVE collection is grounded in the belief that we are in a state of change as we redefine the way we live work and play. HIVE strives to understand this shift and begin to create solutions that empower the user to take control of a space and make it suit their current workflow. We further defined the collection with 'bundles' of configurations that seamlessly fit into an environment. This offers an easy package while being open to full customisation, making HIVE an intuitive and flexible solution that can scale with a company, team or individual. This collection would not have been possible without the support of some amazing Australian manufacturers and designers who supported the research and development of HIVE. We are grateful for our community and excited to see HIVE adapt and grow as people find unique ways to use it.
