The Fjord Table pairs a sculptural and voluptuous form with a lightly textured enamelled aluminium coloured finish balanced seamlessly on a circular disc base. Fjord table answers to an increasing need for furniture that actively considers user experience with the flexibility to focus on work, relaxation, and being socially engaged.

  • We challenged ourselves to create an occasional table focused on human-centred design to develop a lightweight, easily moveable yet sustainable table. Fjord table needed to be versatile, contributing to the enjoyment of daily tasks such as daily rituals, work tasks, leisure or focus whilst positioning the body most naturally, avoiding body strain. We created a table with a strong visual identity yet minimal to ensure it was easily identifiable, sculptural and distinctive within the marketplace. We selected aluminium materiality to ensure that it could be recycled at the end of the product lifecycle and avoided eventually going to landfill.

  • Fjord table, at its essence, incorporates a human-centred design. We utilised 3D CAD simulations, weight distribution, strength analysis, and on-site research within commercial interiors and residences with 23 human subjects to test that the table provided optimal functionality, versatility, comfort, autonomy and balanced safety. The Fjord table's lightweight yet durable aluminium construction combined with a powder-coated enamelled finish without any additional visible fixings ensured the sculptural purity of form, sitting elegantly between lounges or directly in front of you. Selecting aluminium that can be recycled infinite times guided us on the Fjord table's inherent materiality and sustainable product lifecycle.

  • The Fjord collection adapts effortlessly within residential or workplace environments. The table is incredibly versatile when integrated between lounges, increasing space by sitting beside a lounge or sitting in front of you to work on tasks or rest a beverage. Sold throughout Australia and Southeast Asia. We optimised dimensional attributes and safety, functionality, versatility and autonomy for social impact. The Fjord table is designed sustainably from solid, cut, and curved aluminium plates that are non-combustible, non-toxic with low energy enamelled powder coating that's free from VOC's whilst being 100% recyclable. Our production sustains the longevity of local manufacturing & skills.

  • Fjord Table is a sculptural table referencing the narrow cliffs along the Norwegian coastline. The Fjord Table perfectly balances the freedom of sitting between lounge chairs or a lightweight, convenient, and versatile table in residences or office environments. We developed the Fjord table over an 18month period of research to identify ways to improve user experience. We created a table with visually distinctive, adaptive, space-reducing attributes through our investigation into this collection's human-centred characteristics and ergonomics. Research led design informed and guided us in making the correct dimensions to foster better posture and ease of use. The Fjord table is made of aluminium, which can be recycled an infinite number of times without losing any of its quality. Conceived to encourage infinite freedom to explore creativity & versatility within an interior space, creating uplifting environments to inhabit. Design Registered 2020.
