The DWISS S1 is a Swiss-made wandering hours wristwatch that reimagines time display through celestial motion. Designed for watch collectors and design enthusiasts, it presents hours traveling across the dial in a smooth arc inspired by the Moon’s orbit around the Earth. Limited to 50 pieces per colour.

  • The wandering hours complication has historically high-end watchmaking, with most. The challenge was to engineer a reliable wandering hours display using a modified La Joux-Perret G100 Soigné automatic movement while maintaining a 68-hour power reserve and house it within an entirely new cushion-shaped case that expressed DWISS's sculptural design philosophy. Achieving precise disc rotation, consistent timekeeping accuracy, and visual legibility across the curved minute track required extensive prototyping. The case demanded complex multi-surface finishing, combining brushed and polished treatments with fluid transitions that honour the celestial inspiration without compromising wearability or water resistance.

  • The solution centres on orbital logic: two satellite discs rotate under the upper dial, each carrying an hour numeral that indicates minutes along an arc-shaped track, echoing planetary motion. The newly developed cushion case uses intentional surface transitions, every angle follows the design brief, not convention. Sand blasted contrast with polished “horns”, creating visual depth. The modified movement preserves the G100 Soigné's 68-hour reserve while driving the wandering hours module with mechanical precision. A central seconds hand provides a quiet counterpoint. The result transforms timekeeping from a static reading into a continuously evolving visual experience.

  • The S1 democratises a rare complication previously available only at five to twenty-five times its price, making wandering hours accessible to a broader collector audience at CHF 2,200. Commercially, 50 pieces per colour sold through direct-to-consumer channels, eliminating traditional retail waste. The strictly limited production, never re-issued counters disposable consumption by creating enduring collectible value. DWISS's 15-year commitment to limited runs ensures no overproduction. The S1's debut at Time to Watches Geneva 2026 generated significant press coverage, reinforcing independent Swiss watchmaking as a viable alternative to volume-driven luxury conglomerates.

  • Wandering Hours Complication: Two rotating satellite discs display the current hour while indicating minutes along a curved track on the upper dial, inspired by the Moon's orbit around the Earth. This centuries-old complication, dating to the Campani brothers' 1656 clock for Pope Alexander VII, is reinterpreted through a contemporary Swiss-made calibre.Modified La Joux-Perret G100 Soigné Movement: Swiss-made automatic movement engineered to drive the wandering hours module. 68-hour power reserve. 4Hz frequency (28,800 vibrations/hour). Visible through a sapphire exhibition caseback.New Cushion-Shaped Case: An entirely new DWISS silhouette featuring fluid lines with meticulously executed sand blasted and polished surface transitions. Every angle is a deliberate design decision. Stainless steel construction.Strictly Limited Edition: 50 pieces per colour. Once sold out, never manufactured again. Each piece individually numbered, reinforcing collectible value and sustainable production principles.
