  • The goal with the Dexcom G7 receiver was to both improve reliability and functionality compared to previous generation receivers, while also keeping costs low to make it more affordable for more people. In addition to working properly, we challenged ourselves to use the design to instill confidence in the user, because with this device, they are equipped to make important decisions through the day without it being intrusive.

  • The Dexcom G7 receiver’s small size is especially important to users who may also be carrying their smartphone and other items such as a wallet. The VDI-21 surface texture creates a comfortable gripping surface and increases its durability. Lastly, the four-quadrant button improves the intuitive quality of the interface and enables the user to feel a clear tactile orientation.

  • Diabetes is the 7th leading cause of death in the US and costs the healthcare system an estimated $327B per year. People with diabetes average 2x more medical costs than people without. They are also more likely to develop serious health complications that will cost the health system more and reduce their life expectancy and quality of life, such as high blood pressure, and kidney disease. With so much at stake in the US, financially and health-wise, Dexcom G7 is an impactful solution in the lives of those affected by and living with diabetes.

  • Many users don’t have a smartphone or don’t want to use their smartphone to monitor their glucose levels. With pocket and handbag space at a premium, the Dexcom receiver’s small size makes it convenient to carry on-the-go. It’s also easy to use, which is particularly important for children and older adults who are less tech savvy. The receiver is also more enjoyable to use with a bright, vibrant screen that makes it easy to read. Additionally, it can last over a week on a single charge, so users can rely on it day-in and day-out and focus on living their lives.
