  • When Cygnett set the brief for Encore, they did so with careful consideration of current tech, usability, and consumer trends. Their research highlighted demand for safety, flexibility, portability and autonomy. Consumers needed digital connection with less limitation, translating to faster, multiple-device charging which could be deployed anywhere and anytime. Cygnett challenged themselves to create a high-end and portable charging solution which would not only lead the market in performance and quality, but which might build emotional connection with its user, becoming a go anywhere digital companion for productivity.

  • To meet this challenge, Cygnett chose to elevate user experience beyond anything in the market, yet at an affordable price. This demanded balancing sometimes conflicting features of style, capacity, charge speed, portability, thermal performance, colour/material/finish, ergonomics and price. The design achieves a considered balance. It prioritises portability, style and comfort without compromising charging performance or safety. It will charge up to three devices simultaneously including a laptop, each at high wattage, helpfully providing detailed charging stats via its full-colour screen. Encore combines performance, ergonomics and material/finish choices all centred around delivering a highly personal user experience.

  • Starting at $119.95 Encore is not a budget-priced power bank yet it remains competitive against other power banks with comparable performance whilst delivering unique form and finish. Since launching on the market, sales have consistently exceeded expectations, which is a significant win for both Cygnett and its customers, but also for design-led product development. Beyond the technical specification and competitive price point, its exceptional user experience elevates overall consumer value. From a commercial perspective this makes it a ‘halo’ product, helping Cygnett maintain strong market presence whilst importantly making a bold positive statement for its brand.

  • Encore is defined by an external form and tactile approach unlike traditional power banks. That divergence from norms is enhanced by a visual UI and UX with inclusivity, and high levels of safety. The main body is constructed to offer comfort, safety, and style, with super-safe 21700 standard Lithium-Ion Cells wrapped in a palm-sized PC/ABS case, finished in metallic paint and PU fabric. Encore is comfortable to hold in one hand but offers a lanyard attachment point for increased security. The charge ports are clearly debossed for identification, while the raised and chamfered function button is comfortably located beneath the colour TFT screen. Designed to show key information at-a-glance, it also uses display colours optimised for colour blindness. Encore displays a home screen whenever a device is connected or the function button is pressed. The default screen shows the active ports and whether they are receiving (green) or sending charge (orange). The large ring displays the current battery capacity and time to fully charge or discharge. Further presses of the function button show a detailed port usage screen - which displays actual charge or discharge wattages - and also a battery diagnostics, where temperature and total charge cycle count is displayed.
