A key challenge when selecting bathroom products is ensuring that each product supports each other in providing an optimal experience and cohesive design. The key feature of the Caroma Elvire Collection is that all the products have been designed to integrate seamlessly with each other to form a considered and functional bathroom experience. Traditional materials such as enamelled steel have been re imagined and incorporated into contemporary basin and shower designs. Sustainably sourced Tasmanian timbers provide a unique aesthetic and their use in the contact surfaces on products create a luxurious tactile experience.

The Elvire Collection was developed to provide a flexible range of products that could be used to create beautiful and functional bathrooms. Close collaboration with engineering and Australian manufacturing partners has allowed us to achieve refined contemporary forms with traditional bathroom materials. Tasmanian timbers have been sustainably sourced, manufacturing processes developed to integrate timber and metal components and subtle hard-wearing timber treatments applied to ensure unique, tactile and durable bathroom touch points. Innovative metal forming and finishing processes have been developed to deliver the thin edge profiles and timeless circular forms.

No longer viewed as purely functional environments, bathrooms are places of personal retreat and relaxation. The aesthetic balance, functional execution and integration of timber creates a positive experience and connection to nature that is intrinsic to the Australian lifestyle. Elvire embodies the pioneering spirit of Caroma – continuing our relationship and understanding of the Australian consumer through progressive Australian design and engineering. Caroma leads the market in the development of water efficient products. Caroma's complete product offer allows both the execution of complete collections and the significant accumulative water savings that are so vital to our drought affected continent.

Products and components within the collection were developed in partnership with local Australian manufacturers. Caroma partnered with Port Stephens Joinery for the design of the vanities and timber shelves all of which are designed in partnership and manufactured in NSW using locally sourced materials. The timber tapware handles and flush buttons were developed in partnership with EvoStyle and manufactured using locally sourced and sustainable timber manufactured at their Windsor factory in NSW. The Collection features two timber options - a 'dark' option featuring Tasmanian Blackwood as well as a 'light' option featuring Tasmanian Oak. The retail price for both timber options are the same and the finishes have been to selected to align with contemporary interior design trends. The timber is carefully treated and sealed for durability and water resistance to withstand the requirements of the bathroom. The Elvire Collection took just over two years from its initial concept development to market release. As a complete bathroom collection that includes basins, toilets, bath, tapware, showers and accessories, most of which incorporate new materials and processes, the development time is remarkable and highlights Caroma’s company wide focus, drive and commitment to product excellence and market execution.
