  • Large-scale live productions demand simultaneous control over extensive channel counts, complex routing structures, and real-time processing. Traditional large-format audio consoles meet these needs but are intimidating for inexperienced users, extremely costly, physically complex and inflexible, limiting accessibility and scalability. With emerging SMPTE-2110 IP technology democratising live broadcast workflows, the challenge was to develop a high-capacity control surface that delivered the performance, immediacy, and reliability essential for major productions while remaining portable, accessible, and deeply integrated with a software-defined architecture capable of scaling to hundreds or thousands of channels.

  • The Fairlight Live Audio Panel 40 is a large-scale desktop control surface with an intuitive, task-based design featuring 40 motorised faders and four 11.6 inch touchscreen displays, providing expansive, real-time control over complex audio environments. A seamless extension of Fairlight Live software, it enables operators to manage layers, routing, dynamics, and monitoring with speed and precision. The four touchscreens distribute channel strip information, EQ, dynamics, and plug-ins across a wide visual field, reducing cognitive load and improving situational awareness. By combining tactile control with rich visual feedback, it offers a scalable, high-performance solution for large broadcast and live production scenarios.

  • The Fairlight Live Audio Panel 40 makes high-end live audio production more accessible by condensing the capabilities of large-format broadcast consoles into a compact, software-integrated control surface. It enables broadcasters, live event producers and streaming operations to manage complex, high-channel-count productions with greater flexibility and efficiency, supporting remote and distributed workflows through IP-based infrastructure. For Blackmagic Design, it strengthens ecosystem adoption by providing a scalable pathway within the Fairlight Live and DaVinci Resolve platforms. Its affordability and compact footprint also broaden access to advanced production capabilities across a wider range of organisations.
