  • CHALLENGE
  • SOLUTION
  • IMPACT
  • Live broadcast infrastructure has traditionally been defined by hardware-bound systems, extensive copper cabling, and direct signal paths that are costly, complex, and difficult to scale. While SMPTE 2110 IP workflows promise flexibility and efficiency, they have largely remained the domain of large, well-funded broadcasters due to technical complexity and fragmented implementation. There was an opportunity to rethink not just individual products, but an entire broadcast architecture as a coherent, accessible system. A range of products that could deliver high-performance 2110 IP workflows while reducing complexity, improving usability, and making next-generation broadcast infrastructure attainable for a broader range of users.

  • Blackmagic 2110 IP is a fully integrated SMPTE 2110 IP ecosystem spanning aspects of live production that Blackmagic Design has years of experience facilitating, such as capture, switching, audio, recording, storage and post-production. Rather than treating infrastructure as a collection of discrete devices and services, the system is conceived as a unified production environment with consistent interaction models, connectivity and industrial design. By combining hardware, software and cloud workflows into a cohesive platform, the solution transforms complex broadcast infrastructure into a scalable, accessible and intuitive system for modern live production.

  • The Blackmagic 2110 IP ecosystem expands access to professional broadcast infrastructure by replacing complex, hardware-intensive systems with a scalable, IP-based workflow. This lowers financial and technical barriers for independent studios, educators, live event producers and emerging creators, enabling broader adoption of high-end production tools. IP-based workflows support remote collaboration, distributed production and more agile broadcasting models. Sustainability benefits include reduced copper cabling through high-bandwidth optical fibre, lowering material use and infrastructure complexity. For Blackmagic Design, the ecosystem strengthens long-term engagement across hardware, software and cloud services while supporting a more inclusive and future-ready broadcast industry.
