  • CHALLENGE
  • SOLUTION
  • IMPACT
  • MORE
  • Bankston approached Sans-Arc with a simple brief; design a range of unique products that break the mould and reflect the essence of their practice, whilst maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and functionality.

  • The Super collection features a range of truly diverse and unique products. The guiding design principles adopted by Sans-Arc have informed a range of products unlike any other. The eclectic nature of the designs offers stunning contrast with one another when used in conjunction; a bold design language that complements through its playful and irregular approach. Conversely, individual products offer impact and a lasting impression. The Super collection was designed to push boundaries, transform your spaces, and engage and connect with you in every use.

  • Often inherently practical, door furniture provides the user with reliable access and passage through a home or space. The goal of this collection was to subvert this idea of pure functionality, and introduce elements of unexpected playfulness. In this way, the Super Collection is distinct from other door hardware, it is more comparable to little pieces of sculpture for doors. Door hardware is a contact point, something that is important and deserves attention. Upon interaction, the Super Collection draws its user back to the present, encouraging them to consider their surrounding elements and how they interact with one another.

  • The collection comprises five unique pieces. Zzzigurat The Zzzigurat draws its distinctive shape from the ancient Mesopotamian ziggurat, a stepped structure that pre-dates the pyramids of Egypt. The name also pays homage to one of the key design practices (Zzigurat) associated with Radical Design Movement. The bold shape of the Zzzigurat make it ideal for more playful and animated spaces. Geppetto The Geppetto, named after the levers Pinocchio like shape, is subtly linked to the Italian theme of radical design, whilst embracing a slightly absurdist design approach. Playing off contrasting geometries, the Geppetto’s simple form is bold yet timeless. Futurismo Inspired by Futurist design, the Futurismo is geometrically subversive and introduces quite unexpected shapes into a lever. A sphere and chamfered rod are elegantly stacked to create a unique and eye-catching piece. Super Moon Super Moon is named after its shape; it is round - like the moon, and big, so super! Super Moon celebrates the inherent beauty and simplicity of shape, exhibiting strength and assurance with every engagement. Associati Slightly more serious in approach, yet whimsical and imaginative. With the elements stripped back and reduced to only what is needed, the Associati is simple, minimalist – a line and a dot.
