  • Traditional biminis have used multi-link hoop frames that significantly reduce access to fish off the side of a boat. Having substantial framework, the installation position is limited to the mid-region of the boat. These structures are flimsy and offer limited ancillary use. The canvas coverage position is fixed, even though the shifting sun, wind and tide demand varying shade needs. The canvas is integrally affixed into the framework and is not readily removable for transport or drying. Materials, construction and componentry are typically low-budget. Visual appeal is typically low, detracting users from adding this practical sun protection to their boat.

  • The canopy frame is track-mounted, enabling customisation and quick adjustment during a fishing trip. Side louvres with tilt-locking offer premium sun protection in low sitting afternoon sun. The removable canvas allows for towing with the structure erected and improved canvas care. Installing the canopy frame biased to front-rear and pivoting from front/rear is user configurable. Likewise, the tower frame can be biased to front-rear and pivoting from front-rear. This ensures confident fit to a broad range of boats in the market, clearing engines, seats and consoles. Rigid side planes offer supplementary amenity with a reduced footprint maximise fishing space.

  • More people can enjoy sun-protected leisure time during boating and fishing activities. Society improves with people sharing more leisure time. By making the design versatile to fit many boating set-ups, paired with striking visual design, the ATTAQ bimini elevates sun protection from a meagre practicality to a user-centred offering. Sun protection is now cool! Commercially, the flat-pack design delivers a premium, custom-fit solution and appearance out of the box, opening up nationwide customers, instead of historic bespoke in-person customer stream. Versatile fit gives buyer confidence. The product range is easily scalable and able to be resold through interstate dealers.

  • The ATTAQ is patented, with key features for the boat gunnel mount, encapsulating the pivoting side plane, made from a kinked 4mm aluminium panel. HDPE liners guide the panel home during motion whilst accommodating for anticipated misalignment due to DIY installation or non-parallel boat side rails. Resolving this practical detail was key to the solution for lowering the tower frame, required for towing transport and storage clearance under a domestic garage door. The thumbscrews allow for pivoting and tighten the whole assembly, which delivered a rigid structure when towing, even if users leave the canvas affixed (not recommended). During testing, it was seen to be remarkably stable at high speeds, in crosswinds and buffeting from passing traffic. The narrow footprint and strong side panels allow users to mount radios, gear, tables, lights, speakers etc from it, enhancing user customisation which is a major feature for boating enthusiasts. Quick release couplings overhead for the canopy frame are strong, convenient and safe from protrusions, whilst avoiding loose parts. The DIY flat-pack solution means that a configurable design range can be offered to customers nationwide, avoiding the need to take a boat in for custom fitting. The end-product looks far from flat-pack.
