The ATTAQ is patented, with key features for the boat gunnel mount, encapsulating the pivoting side plane, made from a kinked 4mm aluminium panel. HDPE liners guide the panel home during motion whilst accommodating for anticipated misalignment due to DIY installation or non-parallel boat side rails. Resolving this practical detail was key to the solution for lowering the tower frame, required for towing transport and storage clearance under a domestic garage door. The thumbscrews allow for pivoting and tighten the whole assembly, which delivered a rigid structure when towing, even if users leave the canvas affixed (not recommended). During testing, it was seen to be remarkably stable at high speeds, in crosswinds and buffeting from passing traffic.
