The SmartPoint by Alchemy Charge addresses the critical challenge of insufficient and inefficient EV charging infrastructure, which hampers the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. Our goal was to create a solution that is not only reliable and accessible but also user-friendly and scalable. By integrating smart technology and real-time data, the SmartPoint provides a seamless charging experience, meeting the diverse needs of urban and rural users. This project exceeds expectations by promoting sustainable transportation and reducing carbon emissions, driving the transition to a greener future.

SmartPoint by Alchemy Charge addresses the EV charging challenge by integrating smart technology, real-time data, and user-friendly interfaces. Designed specifically for strata living, commercial car parks, and short-term stays like Airbnb, it overcomes the issues of expensive hardware, complex installation, costly infrastructure upgrades, and ongoing maintenance. Key design moments included developing a modular system for easy scalability, low-cost installation, and creating intuitive user interfaces. A significant roadblock was achieving reliable connectivity in varied environments, which we overcame with advanced network solutions. Our iterative process, driven by user feedback,resulted in an efficient,accessible,and sustainable charging solution that meets and exceeds the brief.

Commercially,it provides a cost-effective,scalable solution for EV charging in diverse settings,driving adoption and market growth. Environmentally, it promotes the use of EV’s, reducing carbon emissions and supporting sustainable transportation,directly contributing to Australia’s NetZero targets. Australia aims to have 50% of new car sales be electric by 2030 and achieve NetZero emissions by 2050. Societally,it enhances accessibility to EV charging,encouraging more people to switch to EV’s and fostering a greener future. By addressing key challenges in EV infrastructure,SmartPoint significantly aids in achieving Australia’s transportation targets and contributes to a cleaner,more sustainable world.
