AirTouch™ F30i Full Face Cradle Mask Range

Many PAP users experience discomfort and a lack of appeal in existing masks, which hinders their willingness to start and stick to therapy. Most masks use silicone, which, while effective, can cause pressure marks and skin irritation. The design team recognised that and sought bedroom-related fabric materials to enhance comfort. Whilst ResMed addressed this in a nasal mask design with the AirTouch™ N30i in 2024, the AirTouch™ F30i had to overcome challenging facial geometry to create a complex topological fabric-seal for both the nose and mouth while optimising seal force and comfort level.

With the user experience at its core, the AirTouch™ F30i project focused on bringing a natural sleeping experience to PAP users who breathe through their nose and mouth. Utilizing advanced patented manufacturing technologies, the team created and integrated new materials to address discomfort common with traditional material selections. Development relied on rigorous laboratory and user testing to ensure the product met all requirements in biocompatibility, durability and manufacturability while enhancing desirability, comfort and performance as the product’s goal. This allowed for the creation of a product that humanizes the PAP experience, bringing natural sleep a step closer for PAP users.

AirTouch™ F30i redefines comfort and transforms the sleep experience for both new and existing mouth breather PAP users. Based on results from user trials, AirTouch™ F30i significantly surpasses silicone PAP masks, demonstrating a major shift in user preference towards fabric masks. 85% of participants preferred AirTouch™ F30i for its comfort and overall mask performance. About 9 out of 10 (88%) participants stated that they preferred the new fabric full face mask over existing silicone ones. This new standard is expected to enhance users' quality of life, change perceptions of therapy, and establish a new consumer-driven benchmark for PAP masks.

The AirTouch™ F30i is an innovative full face PAP mask designed for enhanced comfort during sleep. ResMed’s advanced manufacturing technologies seamlessly blend custom fabrics with silicone. The ComfiSoft™ cushion technology provides a full-face cushion that seals comfortably against the user’s nose and mouth. Made from soft, breathable material, it helps keep the skin feeling cooler and less sweaty. This innovation optimizes the integration of fabric and silicone, balancing comfort and seal without sacrificing performance. The mask is available in two options: Clear and Comfort. The Clear option is fitted with a durable silicone frame, allowing users to enjoy the comfort of fabric cushions at a more affordable price point. The Comfort option is fitted with a fabric-wrapped frame, providing a premium experience for optimal sleeping comfort. Additionally, the AirTouch™ F30i introduces ResMed's QuietAir™ technology to a tube-up full-face mask. Each cushion includes a diffused vent that promotes a smooth and quiet flow of exhalation minimizing any disturbance to the user and their bed partner.
