Acredia’s Care Direct app empowers frontline aged care staff with real-time, mobile access to personalised clinical tasks and documentation at the point of care. Designed to streamline workflows, it reduces reliance on shared computers, eliminates end-of-shift admin backlogs, and frees up staff to spend more meaningful time with residents.

  • Acredia’s mobile-first care management solution was developed in response to aged care reforms and findings of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. It addresses critical challenges like workforce shortages, increased care minute tracking, and rising administrative burdens from reporting and compliance regulations. Traditional, task-based care models often left little time for person-centred care. Acredia’s intuitive, real-time app empowers frontline staff—many without English as a first language—to complete documentation on the go, freeing them to spend more meaningful time with residents. By simplifying compliance and reducing paperwork, Acredia supports safer, more respectful, and individualised aged care.

  • The Care Direct app was trialed with aged care provider Signature Care in 2023. By leveraging NFC tags placed at resident rooms, care workers could instantly access resident information, care tasks, and progress notes with a simple scan. This eliminates manual file searches and lengthy handovers. Staff can chart on-the-go, record care minutes and notes via voice dictation, and complete tasks in real-time, with automatic alerts to Registered Nurses. The app simplifies maintenance requests, optimising workflow. Carers no longer have to make unnecessary trips to computers or nursing stations, allowing for more dedicated time with residents.

  • Following successful trials, Signature Care implemented the solution across all seven facilities, achieving significant outcomes. Clinical and progress note-taking time reduced by eight minutes per hour, equating to approximately $300,000 in annual wage savings. Staff fully embraced the technology, resulting in comprehensive, real-time data capture. Nurse call bell response times halved, while increased staff presence on the floor contributed to a reduction in resident falls. The app has transformed time management, allowing more focus on care. Similarly, other adopters like Carinya Lodge report more staff actively engaging with residents, underscoring the solution’s broad and positive impact on aged care delivery.
