The CORIS® System is a revolutionary technology that automates the cleaning of flexible endoscope channels prior to high-level disinfection. Its novel mode of action reaches narrow internal channels, including those inaccessible to manual brushing, delivering consistent, validated and traceable cleaning beyond conventional automated approaches while reducing burden on healthcare staff.

  • Effective cleaning of flexible endoscopes is critical for infection prevention, yet these complex, intricate instruments remain extremely difficult to clean reliably. Current reprocessing relies on manual brushing and flushing, processes that are labour-intensive, highly technique-dependent and difficult to standardise. Inadequate cleaning can result in contamination inside endoscope channels, increasing the risk of infection to patients. The challenge was to design a system capable of consistently cleaning complex internal channels that may be difficult or impossible to reach manually. The solution also needed to integrate into existing hospital workflows, reduce the burden on staff and deliver reliable, traceable cleaning outcomes.

  • The CORIS® System was developed from the ground up to operate with a range of endoscope makes and models with varying internal channel lengths and diameters. The CORIS® System recognises the endoscope type and selects parameters to deliver optimised, particle-based friction cleaning to all channels using the revolutionary Pulsed Suspended Solids (PULSS) technology.Specifically developed fluidic adaptors connect the CORIS® System to the endoscope and direct effluent safely to drain. The result is a fully automated process that removes tough soils and biofilm along the full length of channels, preparing endoscopes for high-level disinfection in under 15 minutes.

  • The CORIS® System is designed to support high-quality patient care, staff wellbeing and environmental sustainability. By improving cleaning of complex and unbrushable endoscope channels, it addresses a critical, well-documented reprocessing challenge, enabling effective cleaning and helping to reduce the risk of residual material within channels linked to infection transmission. For healthcare staff, the CORIS® System automates labour-intensive manual cleaning, reducing fatigue, repetitive strain and chemical exposure while improving workflow efficiency and consistency.Environmentally, the CORIS® System reduces reliance on single-use consumables and harsh chemicals. With integrated digital traceability and connectivity, the CORIS® System enables greater compliance, accountability and operational confidence.

  • Developed with a strong user-centred design approach, the CORIS® System integrates a series of advanced features to support safe, consistent and effective endoscope channel cleaning.• At its core, CORIS PULSS technology dynamically monitors and modulates pressure and flow rate across all channels, delivering frictional conditions that can dislodge bioburden, including within complex and unbrushable geometries. Precision dosing of the CORIS QUANTUM® cleaning agent enables consistent performance across endoscopes of varying diameters and lengths. • A 7” TFT colour touchscreen provides an intuitive graphical user interface, displaying real-time cycle data, guided workflows and on-board training tools. Animated walk-though screens and user -driven maintenance functions were designed to improve usability, reduce errors and maximise operational uptime. • Integrated RFID functionality enables registration of endoscopes, users and accessories within the CORIS® System ecosystem. Smart accessories with embedded RFID or QR codes are automatically recognised each cycle, supporting asset traceability, access control and workflow customisation. • Full digital traceability and integrated Wi-Fi and ethernet connectivity allow validated cycle parameters to be recorded and accessed for compliance, audit and accreditation purposes, with capability for system integration and remote diagnostics. • The closed-system CORIS Smart Drain safely contains and manages effluent, reducing exposure to splashes, aerosols and contaminants.
