Pixii Premium Dispenser

We set out to reimagine how period products are provided in workplace and public bathrooms, particularly within corporate and high-traffic environments. The intention is to progress from outdated, coin-operated vending machines and the stigma associated with period care. Existing solutions are frequently hidden, inaccessible and visually unappealing.By integrating period products into a considered dispenser, the design intent is to increase accessibility while creating a product that facility managers actively want to incorporate into their spaces.The solution needed to overcome practical barriers in these environments: damage-free installation, durability, efficient maintenance, and an intuitive user experience maximising hygiene and access.

The Premium Dispenser was developed from insights across Pixii’s early installations, involving cleaners, building managers, and end-users. These requirements informed a lightweight, wall-mountable system that installs without screws or surface damage, suitable for premium fit-outs. Ease of use and hygiene shaped a simple single-action dispensing experience, while maintenance efficiency was prioritised through fast, tool-free restocking and clear internal visibility. Multiple access systems were explored, including tilt-access and concealed lids, before resolving into a discreet hidden latch for cleaners. Material choices combine sheet metal, injection-moulded touchpoints, and off-the-shelf components to balance durability, cost efficiency, and a refined aesthetic.

It's designed for commercial viability, balancing durable materials, efficient manufacturing, and aesthetics.Its lightweight, tool-free system simplifies installation and servicing, improving usability for facility managers and cleaners, and enabling more access to period products across a wider range of spaces.The sleek, wall-mounted form enhances visibility, hygiene, and accessibility compared to hidden products, benchtop packs, or unreliable vending machines.This supports gender-inclusive access to essential hygiene products in workplaces, schools, and public bathrooms, using recycled materials in the touchpoint, with a recyclable aluminium body.

Pixii’s Premium Dispenser is designed for tool-free install via a mounting plate with pre-applied 3M tape. The dispenser locks to the mounting plate with a single screw - this makes it incredibly easy to install without permanent wall fixings.Pads and tampons are accessed with minimal touch required on the dispenser, creating a low-touch device for maximum hygiene. The absence of buttons, dispensing cavities or chutes also makes for a maintenance-free and durable device with nearly no moveable or readily breakable parts.Period products are held in place by the internal canister packaging, with users able to take one at a time. This produces far less waste and an experience more tailored to user needs than alternatives which force 2 or 3 period products to a pack.The dispenser materials (stainless steel, aluminium, recycled ABS) have been chosen for durability, renewability and anti-bacterial hygiene.The discrete, tool-free opening mechanism means cleaners don't need an extra key, seamlessly integrating into existing routines. The double-hinge front door allows easy restocking and requires minimal clearance, for flexible placement near other wall units in confined bathroom spaces.
