  • The home carbonation category is crowded and "water-first". Carbonating sugary or pulpy drinks introduces rapid foaming and unstable pressure release, so expanding beyond water required new safety and guidance. The team needed to prevent CO₂ discharge in an unsafe manner, restrict operation to a flat surface, and eliminate any risk of pressurized vessels. The carbonator also had to avoid ice crystal build-up during cold CO₂ injection, while retaining a premium all-metal aesthetic nozzle and navigating existing IP. Finally, the product had to fit with the Breville coordinated countertop design direction and position itself as a premium countertop appliance.

  • The InFizz Fusion pairs a tapware-inspired chromed die-cast handle with engineered safety to broaden carbonation beyond water. A patented tilt-head interlock disables the gas system when the bottle is angled forward; a base-button interlock requires a flat surface. The FusionCap™ uses a patented dual-step thread to mitigate the risk of removal while pressurized. There are three layers of pressure valve redundancy to ensure safety remains a priority. The dual stage pressure release valve lever is tuned to ensure ease of use and reliability. An insulated anti-freeze nozzle prevents ice crystals during cold CO₂ injection while retaining an all-metal look.

  • InFizz Fusion shifts home carbonation from water-only routines to a flavour-first workflow—carbonating juice, tea, cocktails, wine, and re-fizzing soda. Safety interlocks and a pressure-control cap reduce misuse and anxiety around pressurized CO₂, supporting confident experimentation. The chromed die-cast handle and coordinated metal finishes position the appliance as permanent countertop tapware, aligning with Breville’s broader design language. The range of InFizz products have been successful beyond predictions and have successfully entered Breville into a new appliance category. The environmental impact comes from the user choosing this beverage maker in place of single-use packaging products.

  • Breville’s InFizz Fusion is a countertop sparkling beverage maker that combines advanced safety features and premium design. Multiple engineered safety systems protect the user: a patented tilt-head gas interlock halts CO₂ discharge when tilted open; a base safety switch ensures operation only on a stable surface; and a patented dual-step FusionCap™ thread removes risk of unscrewing the FusionCap™ under pressure. An anti-freeze nozzle mitigates ice crystal formation during carbonation, maintaining performance while preserving a premium all-metal exterior. The design balances aesthetic elegance with everyday functionality. A lever handle serves as the centrepiece, blending tapware-inspired styling with ergonomic leverage for easy carbonation. The drip tray cover features a bubble-inspired pattern refined via hundreds of iterations, creating a distinctive sensory element. Thoughtfully designed accessories complement the experience: a soft TPR bottle brush contoured to the bottle’s geometry for best cleaning and shaped to reduce splash-back when removing. There is a mini FusionCap™ cleaning brush cleverly stored inside the handle, and a nesting filter/funnel allows the user to remove pulp from beverages they wish to carbonate. Brushed stainless steel surfaces and polished accents align with Breville’s coordinated countertop design language, resulting in a cohesive and luxurious presence in the kitchen.
