SolShare is an Australian-designed product that unlocks shared rooftop solar for apartment buildings, giving residents fair and equitable access to clean energy. Already connecting 10,000+ apartments across three continents, SolShare has delivered 23GWh of solar globally to date and helped residents save an average of 30–40% on electricity bills.

  • Apartment residents have been unfairly excluded from the clean energy transition. While standalone homes can readily adopt rooftop solar, multi-unit buildings face a structural barrier: residents share a roof but lack a practical way to fairly distribute solar energy to individual apartments. This challenge affects more than 2.5 million Australians, 35 million Americans and 200 million Europeans living in apartment buildings. SolShare was designed to overcome these technical, infrastructure and ownership barriers without costly building overhauls. The brief was to create a scalable, behind-the-meter solution that makes clean, affordable solar accessible to apartment residents globally.

  • SolShare is a world-first hardware and software solution that connects a single rooftop solar system to multiple apartments. The compact unit integrates with existing building infrastructure and intelligently directs solar to up to 15 connected dwellings. Multiple times a second, SolShare monitors each apartment’s energy demand and directs power in real time to where it is needed most. Its configurable algorithm ensures residents receive their fair solar allocation over the month, while maximising on-site solar use and reducing bills. Through iterative development and global deployment, SolShare has evolved to a scalable, non-invasive solution for sharing clean energy in apartment buildings.

  • SolShare is a catalyst for global energy equity, giving apartment residents direct access to clean solar energy and meaningful bill savings. SolShare has already connected 10,000+ families across three continents, helping residents save an average of 30–40% on electricity bills. By overcoming the structural barriers to shared solar, it supports fuel-poverty reduction and unlocks a potential 500-million-tonne annual CO₂ abatement opportunity. Commercially, SolShare has created a new Inverter Power Sharing Device category and secured $6.8M in export revenue this year, demonstrating how Australian design can deliver social, environmental and commercial impact at global scale.

  • SolShare is the cornerstone of shared solar, designed to make apartment solar equitable, scalable and efficient. By connecting one larger rooftop solar system to multiple dwellings, SolShare simplifies installation and connectivity while maximising available roof space and on-site solar generation. Solar allocation amongst connected apartments can be configured to suit the building’s needs, ensuring fair solar delivery.Features include:Scalable and direct solar: Each SolShare connects a 30kVA shared rooftop solar system to up to 15 apartments, allowing residents to directly offset energy use, receive undiluted savings and reduce environmental impact.Universal compatibility: Works with any solar array and inverter brand, while residents keep existing meters, infrastructure and energy retailer.Flexible intelligent allocation: Continuously monitors apartment demand and directs solar where needed most, while ensuring each resident receives their configured allocation over the month.Battery integration: Shared battery compatibility extends solar benefits to periods without sunshine.Installer-focused design: A considered installation process and smart Commissioning App simplify connectivity and compliance, reducing installation time and cost.SolCentre portal: Residents view solar delivered, bill savings and environmental impact, while asset managers monitor performance and adjust allocations remotely.Global-ready design: Designed, engineered and manufactured in Melbourne for deployment across ANZ, UK and Europe.
