Electric hydrofoils have traditionally been designed for versatility, prioritising stability and accessibility over outright performance. This creates a compromise for advanced riders seeking higher speeds, sharper handling, and race-level control. At elevated velocities, maintaining stability, efficient hydrodynamics, and rider confidence becomes increasingly difficult. The challenge was to overcome these limitations by designing a purpose-built eFoil that could achieve maximum speed without sacrificing control, responsiveness, or safety. This required rethinking board geometry, propulsion efficiency, and rider positioning to deliver a platform capable of consistent, high-performance riding in competitive conditions.

Fliteboard RACE addresses these challenges through a fully integrated, performance-first design. A longer, narrower hull reduces drag and improves tracking at speed, while lifted rails and refined rocker enable controlled touchdowns and recovery. The recessed deck lowers the rider’s centre of gravity, increasing stability and cornering precision. A re-engineered mast position and race-specific propulsion system, developed with Mercury Racing, maximise efficiency and thrust under load. Iterative prototyping with elite riders informed each refinement, ensuring the final design translates complex hydrodynamics into intuitive, high-speed control.

Fliteboard RACE advances the eFoil category by establishing a dedicated high-performance segment previously underserved. It enables experienced riders to achieve higher speeds with greater control, reducing the trade-off between stability and performance. Commercially, it strengthens Flite’s leadership in premium eFoiling and expands its appeal to competitive and advanced users. The modular platform supports compatibility across existing systems, extending product lifespan and usability. By improving hydrodynamic efficiency and reducing energy demand at speed, RACE also contributes to more sustainable electric watercraft performance without compromising capability.
