  • Cities face growing pressure to improve mobility, environmental monitoring and public space management while minimising infrastructure costs and visual clutter.Traditional smart city deployments often require multiple independent sensor systems for traffic monitoring, air quality, parking, noise and pedestrian activity. These fragmented solutions increase hardware complexity, installation costs and data silos, making it difficult for cities to scale smart infrastructure effectively. The design challenge behind SENSE ONE was to create a single intelligent sensing platform capable of delivering multiple urban insights, while integrating seamlessly with existing street lighting infrastructure and maintaining strict privacy protections for citizens.

  • SENSE ONE is a compact, edge-AI powered urban sensing platform designed to integrate directly with existing street lighting assets/infrastructure.Installed on lighting poles using Zhaga or pole-mount interfaces, the device combines multiple sensing capabilities—including traffic analysis, environmental monitoring, acoustic detection and crowd flow measurement—into a single platform.Embedded AI processes data locally on the device, transforming raw information into anonymised insights before transmission to the cloud. This edge computing approach reduces network load, improves responsiveness and protects citizen privacy.SENSE ONE integrates with the Schréder EXEDRA platform, enabling cities to visualise data, generate alerts and automate urban infrastructure responses.

  • SENSE ONE enables cities to transform existing lighting assets into scalable digital infrastructure.By consolidating multiple sensing capabilities into a single device, the system reduces hardware requirements and avoids the need for multiple independent sensor deployments. This minimises installation complexity, reduces infrastructure costs and lowers embodied carbon associated with urban sensing networks.Real-time insights into traffic flow, parking occupancy, air quality and environmental conditions enable data-driven urban planning and operational decision-making.These capabilities help cities improve mobility efficiency, reduce congestion-related emissions and create healthier, more responsive public spaces.

  • SENSE ONE combines multiple sensing technologies with edge computing to deliver a comprehensive urban intelligence platform.Multi-domain sensing capabilityThe system integrates traffic monitoring, parking detection, environmental sensing and acoustic monitoring within a single compact device. This reduces the need for multiple independent sensors and simplifies deployment across urban environments.Edge AI processingEmbedded AI processes sensor data locally, converting raw data into actionable insights before transmitting results to the cloud. This approach reduces network bandwidth requirements and improves real-time responsiveness.Privacy-by-design architectureThe system avoids collecting personally identifiable information. It does not record licence plates, store video footage or capture biometric data, ensuring compliance with strict privacy regulations.Integration with lighting infrastructureSENSE ONE integrates directly with existing lighting poles via Zhaga or pole-mount installations, allowing cities to leverage existing infrastructure rather than deploying new sensor networks.Urban intelligence platform integrationThe device connects to the Schréder EXEDRA platform, where collected data is visualised through dashboards, heatmaps and alerts to support operational decision-making.Firmware Upgrades OTANew models can be trained and upgraded without having to manually do it.
