  • Recovery is one of life’s most vulnerable experiences. What is worn during it has been largely overlooked. Existing choices are typically clinical compression garments or ordinary garments, neither designed around the full patient experience. Many people face discomfort, disrupted sleep, loss of dignity, low confidence, all while trying to heal. Conversations with patients, carers and clinicians revealed similar responses from different perspectives. Each understood Hilvaren's purpose and saw relevance in their own life or for someone they cared about. It exposed a significant gap in healthcare design that has gone unacknowledged, even though it affects almost every patient after surgery.

  • Hilvaren introduces Healing Performance Wear, a new category of therapeutic recovery apparel shaped around medical need, textile science and the lived experience of healing. Bio-responsive fabric supports circulation, temperature regulation, comfort and rest. It complements compression where clinically required while extending healing support well beyond what compression alone can offer. Design features respond to real recovery needs including physical vulnerability and emotional sensitivity. Rather than feeling clinical, Hilvaren is designed to feel reassuring, practical and dignified. Developed through iterative research with patients, carers and clinicians, the solution reflects what no existing product has considered... how people actually experience recovery.

  • Hilvaren has potential to improve recovery by increasing prolonged wear and reducing abandonment of therapeutic support. This matters because once support is removed the benefit stops. Its social impact lies in improving quality of life during one of the most vulnerable stages of care and recognising that patients remember their recovery experience as a whole, not just the clinical outcome. Recycled yarn and sustainably manufactured trims reduce environmental impact without compromising therapeutic function. Commercially Hilvaren defines a scalable new category bridging healthcare, therapeutic textiles and human centred garment design with relevance across post surgical recovery, oncology, rehabilitation and aged care.

  • * Bio-responsive medical textile *Embedded minerals within the fibre convert body heat into infrared energy to support microcirculation, temperature, comfort and rest. Built on Class 1 medical device registered textile technology and FDA determined medical device foundations.* Designed for prolonged wear *Developed as a non-compression therapeutic textile alternative. Soft hand feel supports sensitive bodies, while crease resistance reduces maintenance during low energy periods. Antimicrobial protection supports hygiene and freshness during extended wear.* Therapeutic recovery support *Supports circulation and tissue oxygenation, assists muscle recovery and endurance, improves sleep quality and helps reduce discomfort and fatigue.* Integrated clinical functionality *Discreet internal pockets to house surgical drains. Can be worn independently or layered over prescribed compression or other worn medical aids where clinically required.* Dignity by design *Non-clinical in appearance, helping wearers feel like themselves rather than defined by illness or surgery. Move confidently through appointments, discharge and everyday recovery.* Responsible material specification *Recycled yarn and considered trims, including recycled material zips, reducing environmental impact without compromising therapeutic performance.* Connected care technology *A tap-activated zip transforms a functional garment detail into a discreet healthcare touchpoint for clinician check-ins, personalised recovery guidance, patient-led recovery tracking and silent care nudges from family and carers.
