Twist `N` Lock – Agricultural Fence Tensioner

Traditional fence tensioning methods for manufactured wire/rural mesh fencing are time consuming and tedious, each wire has to be individually tensioned with a tensioning tool then tied off to a fence post. This method makes tensioning short runs very difficult and it’s hard to maintain maximum tension, if the wire slips the fence becomes slack and ineffective for controlling livestock. Tying off individual wires is not only hard on the installers fingers when tying off, it also creates future problems particularly for wooden posts, over time the wire strangles the post increasing potential post weakness and breakage.

Twist ’N’ Lock Tensioner Kit, an efficient and effective fence tensioning system. Designed for use with manufactured wire/rural mesh fencing to tension all the wires at once. Two Eye Bolts are attached to the strainer post, then thread the Tensioner Post through each eyelet, wires are inserted through corresponding pre-drilled holes in the Tensioner Post and simply bent over to lock in place, no need to tie any wires. Using the Twist ’N’ Lock Tensioner Bars rotate the Tensioner Post, adjusting the wire until desired tension is reached. The Tensioner Post is then secured in place with a Locking Pin.

Twist ’N’ Lock Tensioner Kit is Australian Made and has Patent Pending. It accommodates three different sizes of manufactured wire/rural mesh (7/90/30, 8/90/30, 8/90/15), making it versatile and adding flexibility to fencing projects. Every manufacturer of rural mesh wire has different specifications and spacings between their wires. APATCO has meticulously measured and tested these specifications to provide accurate hole placements. Currently, we provide 1[m] long tensioning posts accommodating three different sizes of wire, however our aim is to grow our product offering to cover a broad range of wire sizes. The custom-made Eye Bolts are designed as such to allow for different setups in a fence line where you may need to attach the Eye Bolts off-centre to the fence post to allow for other obstructions. The off-set Eye Bolts also allow for smooth rotation as the space inside the eyelet allows the Tensioner Post to rotate freely. The custom-made Locking Pin is designed with a rounded cup-head and to be short enough to ensure there are no sharp edges sticking out past the post for livestock safety, but also long enough to provide a sufficient and safe locking element so as not to loose any tension in the wire.
