Tluxe

After years working for big brands that had sadly moved all their manufacturing off shore I felt that there was a need for a new model in manufacturing. A sustainable brand that had close working relationships with a small, transparent supply chain and a hands on approach to running the business. I wanted to create mindfully designed, well made, pared back, wardrobe keepers that would stand the test of time. I wanted Tluxe to be the antithesis of Fast fashion and to educate our consumers of the environmental damage caused by mass produced clothing.

Tluxe began it's life on my kitchen table in Tamarama in 2006. My initial range consisted of a few pieces made from Tencel and Bamboo, the styles were as seam free as possible and mostly one size . These now called essentials remain the core of the brand. Next, working together with a Melbourne knitter we developed our custom made fabric, GOTS certified organic cotton that is soft washed for handle and to prevent shrinkage. This led to the development of the simple yet perfect tee shirt range. Each season we make small additions to these ranges.

Our design focus on freedom of movement and simple elegant style, makes the women who wear our clothes feel empowered. Our customers make conscious decisions to wear only natural sustainable fabrics and tell us that wearing Tluxe makes dressing easy! When they purchase a style they often return to purchase one in every colour. As one of the pioneers of the sustainable fashion movement we believe in consumer awareness and education, thoughtful consumption and a "less is more" attitude. Our clothing wears well, washes well and every part of the garments, including packaging, is biodegradable.

Many of our best selling pieces are one size fits most. We call this our "Everybody" Collection. It is designed for Women of all shapes and sizes. With mindful design we minimise the use of trimmings and where necessary only use natural trims. Our garments are versatile, transitional and timeless. They have form and function, simplicity is their strength. We work primarily with natural and sustainable fabrics; Cupro, Tencel, Bamboo, Silk, Merino Wool. All our cotton is certified Organic and all of our clothing is washable including the silk. Our bamboo is organic and made using the closed loop process and our wool is sourced from suppliers who do not practice Mulesing. Tluxe is made in Sydney by a small family run business who we have worked with since the brands conception. We feel strongly about supporting local manufacturing .
