  • Melbourne is a growing talent hub for ServiceNow and the expanded footprint needed to be future-proofed to meet the scale of growth and facilitate great employee experiences at work. The strategic objectives were clear; people first, then place. The aim was to create a space, reflective of the brand, that also connected employees to Melbourne. The new workspace would cater to future growth and reflect company values. The impending lease expiry meant they could take full advantage of the opportunity to relocate to a prominent new building in the CBD, building on their strong portfolio of workplaces around the world.

  • Having delivered multiple projects around the world, ServiceNow has a global space formula to deliver the same great experience to every employee, no matter where they reside. This provided a solid foundation to develop a planning scheme that met the universal business requirements for space, whilst distributing amenity to best suit specific local needs. This future workplace design is a standout design that is not only relevant to ServiceNow's current business but one that is flexible, timeless, and ready to evolve as ServiceNow continues to grow.

  • The human-centric approach to design was inspired by ServiceNow's people - a diverse, creative and fast-growing team that's changing how the world works. The new design delivers the same great experience to everyone regardless of their role - employee, partner, customer or guest, connecting with the company's purpose. Huddles, quiet rooms and informal spaces allow users to select settings based on their specific needs and tasks, creating a rich palette of working styles. Social areas such as a games room, large 'Town Square' breakout and mini golf putting green provide additional reasons to visit the office, enhancing social relationships and nurturing community.

  • The new space is high-quality and sustainable, creating an environment that not only provides opportunity for increased productivity, but also tends to wellbeing. Biophilic design principals were considered and integrated holistically within the design process through access to natural light, views and planting, connecting people to the surrounding context. Open plan spaces that create connection between teams are balanced by spaces to retreat and reflect, offering an eclectic mix of settings to accommodate the needs of all staff and visitors. High-quality facilities such as a parents' room, wellness room, games room and community breakout hub offer further opportunity for connection, offering much more than just a space to work. To further connect the people to their local context, we included furniture from Melbourne suppliers, as well as two murals painted by local artists. The break-out area features a large-scale coffee cup painted on exposed brick, a nod to Melbourne's coffee culture, while an informal collaboration space features a hand-painted mural of key Melbourne landmarks.
