Marami is an adaptive, modular table system designed for evolving spaces. An M&E Interiors and Skeehan Studio collaboration, Marami introduces a new design language of creative, circular modularity, anchored by one intelligent frame and many interchangeable expressions. Marami redefines how tables are designed, reused, and reimagined over time.

  • CHALLENGE
  • SOLUTION
  • IMPACT
  • MORE
  • Marami responds to two challenges: the shift toward hybrid working and the growing environmental impact of furniture waste. Organisations increasingly demand furniture that enables focus and collaboration, individuality, and long-term value. The challenge was to create a modular, circular table system that designers in the industry told us needs to evolve with changing demands, without aesthetic or structural compromise. It needed to be lightweight yet robust, architectural yet flexible, and easy to assemble and dissemble. A key goal was to maximise material reuse and customisability, delivering a system designed not for replacement, but for reinvention across lifecycles and settings.

  • Inspired by the “frame and skin” logic of lighting design, the team explored how one universal structure could support many outward expressions. Early prototypes tested the balance between a robust central leg and lightweight profiles, enabling creative variation and reconfiguration without reengineering the frame. Designer and user feedback shaped refinements to scale and materiality, while 3D printing accelerated rapid testing of custom profiles and clip components for tool-free assembly. The final design prioritises reduced waste, circularity, and design agency, delivering a table architecture built to evolve, not expire. Fittingly, ma·ra·mi means “many” in Tagalog: many expressions, one intelligent future-ready frame.

  • Marami delivers meaningful impact by reimagining the table as a modular and expressive system—one that reduces waste, extends product life, and adapts across commercial, education, hospitality, and community settings. Its disassembly structure allows for renewal, reuse, and responsible disposal, supporting sustainable procurement at scale. Socially, Marami fosters emotional connection and identity through culturally layered surfaces and nature-inspired forms. Commercially, it meets growing demand for flexible, next-generation workplace and lifestyle furniture. By enabling creative freedom and reconfiguration without replacement, Marami challenges the status quo, offering a compelling, scalable systems-driven alternative that aligns aesthetic expression with environmental responsibility.

  • Marami is a modular, expressive, and circular table system designed to evolve alongside changing needs. Built on the logic of “frame and skin,” it minimises waste while maximising creative freedom and functional longevity. Key features include: • One intelligent frame, many expressions: A universal core designed to support a wide range of sculptural profiles and surface materials. • Culturally layered: Inspired by diverse design narratives, nature’s fractal logic, and the need for identity in shared spaces. • Circular and enduring: Components can be disassembled, renewed, refurbished, reused, recycled, or responsibly disposed of, supporting closed-loop design. • Highly adaptable: Evolves seamlessly across users, lifecycles, and settings from boardrooms and co-working spaces to cafés and education environments. • Customisable finishes: Tailor materials, colour, and expression to suit any context, brand story, or mood. • Quietly bold: A sculptural yet understated architectural presence, allowing surface expression to take the lead. • Scalable, long-term value: Designed for both mass production and bespoke projects, delivering lasting utility and design flexibility across changing spaces and budgets. Marami offers a system not just a product, redefining what a table can be.
