  • Having worked with the Commission previously on Sogi's Story as the Explainers, we were seen as the natural partners to explain a big complex topic. We had been itching to make a scrolling parallax site for ages and it was an exciting challenge to use this as to simplify such a long chain of events. This then gave the video a different purpose as it now focussed on the”why” of the story and our challenge here was extracting key themes from such big over-arching concepts (such as “freedom” and “democracy”) to make the basis for our video. Having explained many complex subjects before explaining why freedom is important and what we have been through to achieve the rights we sometimes take for granted.

  • As primarily a video production studio to push into interactive design was an exciting and challenging new move. We find clients ask us for a video sometimes before they have really thought about it. This was an exciting chance to separate the "what" and "why" of a story and express them through different online media. To be animating in after effects and code simultaneously was a breakthrough for us and pushed us technically, creatively and narratively as we interpreted different aspects of the story through different informational needs.

  • It is used by teachers on electronic white boards as an in class conversation starter and is now to be extended into a series of extra units covering more specific areas of law and rights. It has proved to be one of the most popular educational resources for the Commission and also created common ground between the Commission and the Attorney General which led to further funding of the vital work the Commission does.
