  • Three key challenges: First, respecting the land. We needed to integrate the building without clearing the rubber trees or mimicking sterile lines. Secondly, the design had to echo the rolling hills - a disappearing element of the landscape. Finally, flexibility was key. Spaces needed to adapt to different uses, like a future office, with movable walls and adaptable layouts to seamlessly transform the building’s function.

  • 1. Blending with the Landscape. We transformed the existing rubber trees into a public park. A winding path through the park leads visitors to the building entrance, immersing them in the greenery. 2. Reflecting Topography. The building itself mirrors the rolling hills with its organic form. Clad in red metal mesh, it acts as a backdrop to the forest while its unique shape adds a touch of drama. 3. Flexible Spaces. Each space boasts varying heights, sizes, and window views to suit different functions. Lightweight walls and adaptable layouts allow for future conversions, ensuring the building evolves with business needs.

  • The project breathes new life into abandoned land. By preserving the rubber trees as a public park, it offers a green haven for the community. Wood from the forest is repurposed as sustainable landscaping features. While the building serves a private function, the park fosters a sense of community and allows public access to a unique architectural experience.

  • A hidden gem unfolds: a double skin facade on the Irringan Bayu Gallery. This design features perforated metal panels that fold in and out, framing curated glimpses of the surrounding landscape. Beyond aesthetics, these panels act as a natural filter, mitigating harsh western heat while allowing cooler air to flow through the façade. This innovative approach optimizes views and comfort, creating a sustainable and visually dynamic space.
