Film Victoria is a statutory authority of the State Government of Victoria.

It provides strategic leadership and assistance for film, television, and digital media production in Victoria.

In 2015, Film Victoria partnered with Thirst Studios to develop their new website by combining their 8 divergent websites into one seamless online experience.

  • To consolidate the existing 8 web properties and associated content and functionality, forming a single solution that is easier to maintain and provides a seamless, easy-to-use, personalised user experience.

  • The information architecture (IA) of the original Film Victoria website made it difficult for different user groups to access all of the information they needed. Stakeholders like International project owners interested in producing their screen projects in the state of Victoria needed access to information that was spread over multiple websites, with multiple user experiences. It was therefore seen as critical to ensure the IA structure of the new design was designed to support key user journeys to ensure primary tasks could be easily completed.

  • Our solution was to create a modern, responsive website that highlights the key user tasks including grant applications, within a simple, user focused site architecture. Through the use of this site, Victorian screen industry professionals can apply for funding, find support for their projects and explore the wealth of screen industry talent the state offers, international stakeholders can explore the diverse filming locations and world-standard facilities offered in the state and interested stakeholders can explore the fantastic productions supported by Victoria.
