AVG eFloStop Leak Protection Valve

Leaks can occur around the hot water cylinder, causing gradual or immediate flood damage in Australian homes and apartments. The design challenge was to deliver accessible and convenient protection against flood damage. The solution needs to respond instantly to detected leaks, shutting off the water supply immediately to minimise all potential damage. It must be easy to install, compact to fit in tight spaces and reliable to ensure it maintains production without nuisance trips. Because of it's infrequent operation, it must be intuitive and simple to operate.

A contact sensor sits inside the hot water cylinder tray. If water contacts the probes, a motor will instantly close a valve to shut-off the mains water and pressure supply that could cause flood damage. A loud alarm and LED lights will alert the occupant to the issue. A single button press will reset the device. This has been packaged in a compact device, with convenient connections for easy installation in any orientation. Battery power guarantees leak protection, but the device can be used with an optional power supply so that the batteries don't need replacement.
