Samantha Stevens

Samantha Stevens is a respected motoring journalist and motorsport competitor with over 25 years of experience in the automotive and transport industry. Currently based at Sydney Motorsport Park and the Australian Motorsport Innovation Precinct in Greater Sydney, Samantha has held judging roles across prestigious programs including the Good Design Awards in the Automotive and Transport category, Wheels Car of the Year, International Car of the Year, and the Wheels Young Designer Awards.

Her approach to judging design is guided by the philosophy of fellow motoring scribe and designer, the late Paul Cockburn: “Good design is the absence of vice; great design is the presence of brilliance.” For Samantha, truly outstanding design evokes emotion while seamlessly meeting the demands of form, function, safety, sustainability, and innovation – a challenge not easily met in the evolving automotive landscape, and one that deserves the highest recognition when achieved.
